Little Gem........

well actually her name is Bella but we didn't know that when we saw her yesterday. After battling a torrential downpour during our commute home, we pulled into the driveway to see two people (a repairman and a neighbor) in the yard with a little wet dog running around jumping on them. They asked if we knew whose dog it was. Me being the nosy aware neighbor that I am told everyone that had to be Junior our neighbors dog on the corner.

Mistah picked her up to talk to her (ya'll know he thinks he's dog whisperer o_O) and took a look at her privates.

Mistah: I thought you said Junior was a boy

Me: Hell I thought he...she was....SURPRISE!

He takes it up the street only discover that Junior is already at home (and is really a boy).

THE PLOT THICKENS!

He returns home with the known unknown and names her Chelsea Lately (you have to say like the guy that announces her name when the show starts) because he says she looks like a talk show host.

My man....gotta love him.

Anyway, I walked around the neighborhood hoping that someone would see her with me and come out to claim her. No dice but I did get a few offers to adopt her if no one came forward. Sweet! Fortunately for Bella the 'dog found' signs I made worked because as of 7 am, her owner called. Sweeter!

I'm sure Emma and Cochise will be thrilled to see her go. What?! You thought they'd be sad?

Homie was trying to pull the little dog syndrome and got checked something proper! LMAO Emma got to growlin' and Cochise...well he need only bark to scare the life out something. That lil beyotch ran so fast out of the room.......*tears*

At any rate, it was fun while it lasted (with the exception of her crying in the kennel last night annnnnnnnnnnd this morning as we left the house) but I'm glad she's going home.

Bella........we'll holla!

And now for a musical selection

Furbaby down Code 10 Situation!

Look at my baby Cochise. Doesn't he look pitiful? Really he was just sleepy and probably pissed because I woke him up to take a picture with the craptastic camera on my phone last night. I wanted to get some pics of him prior to the surgery he had this morning. No worries, he's fine. He had to get some work done on his nether regions that was affecting him. Anal sac ruptures on dogs are not fun (or cheap) and that's all I have to say about that.

My baby LOVES the vet and all his staff (and they him) so much so he literally drug me to the door to get in there today. lol Cochise is really a loving dog that has never met a human enemy. Dogs on the other hand? Let's just say I think he can hold his own (and then some) based on previous experiences with some doggy disorderlies we've come across.

Anyway, just as he drug me into the vet's office today he led me to the door this afternoon when I picked him up. I think he's had enough of them for a bit. Too bad he has to go for a follow-up in a couple of weeks. Before we left, I had an interesting convo with one of the vet assistants.

VA: Do ya'll feed him vienna sausages?
In my head, I thought 'what the fuck kind of question is that?'
Me: No, neither of our dogs eat table food. (Now that I think about it that's a lie. We do feed them fruit sometimes)Why do you ask?
VA: Well, he's had gas all afternoon and that's what it kinda smelled like.
Me: Bwahahahahahahahaha Honey, welcome to our world. When it's bad, it's real bad.

Bless her heart.

Anyway, here's the gentle giant today back at home after surgery.

You'll notice his little bandage from the IV on his front right leg. He was and is still a little groggy from the anesthesia used this morning. He cried for his pappy like a sissy until he came home. Now? He's all up under him like the daddy's boy he is. I wish I would have recorded it so ya'll could have heard his punk ass. He sounded a pure-d mess! lol Poor baby.

I'm just glad he made it through safe and sound. Having had a dog die on the operating table before always makes it nerve wrecking for me anytime that they have to have procedures done.

Not to be outdone, Emma demanded a photo op all her own even though you see she's all up and through the one with Cochise above. Since she did not ask, here's a pic of her (ironically enough at the vet's office) after being told she needs to go on a diet. No pet snuggies for you little girl. Mama's buying you the DVD set of Richard Simmons Sweatin' to the Oldies for Christmas.

Some things I've noticed........

...............while being at home today and last week.

  • I really like watching tv court shows. The People's Court, Judge Hatchett, Judge Karen, Judge Judy, Judge Mathis, Divorce Court, etc, etc, etc. It is quite entertaining.
  • My dogs get on my nerves wanting to constantly go outside but never want to stay outdoors long.
  • Movies on cable suck during this time of day.
  • Fit TV is the bomb.
  • Gillad on Bodies in Motion has still got it and can take my breath away. Have you ever tried his workout routines?
  • I hate this commercial. Why was the courtroom scene shot inside a church?

Ultimate Stress Reliever.....

I've discovered the best thing since sliced bread! Because they know I am a lover of all things canine, one of my e-buddies sent this to me yesterday. It's a puppy cam!!! They are the sweetest little things!! Be sure to watch out for the one with the purple collar. He/she rocks rough and stuff, now all they need is their afro puffs!! lol I'm going to leave it up today so that when my boss works my nerve , because she will, I can sneak a peak at their angelic little faces.

I need to get one of these for our crib to make sure Emma and Cochise are not tearin up the place! lol

ENJOY!!!

Homie Don't Play Dat!

Today I had to take my eldest furry child to the vet's office to have a teeth extraction and cleaning done. In an effort to spoil him rotten, AR Gal would frequently buy him those big hearty bones to chew on because he loved them so. In doing so, this has caused him to have a fractured tooth. Now granted noone really knows how it happened but that's my diagnoses and I'm stickin to it. Mkay? Thanks. Unfortunately for my boy, that means no more of those tasty treats but lucky for him I still want to spoil him and his little sister (aka his sidepiece...more on that later) so they will be just fine with other alternatives I've found for them.
So I take him to the vet, talk with the vet asst. for a spell about the procedure that was to be done (a TOOTH extraction and cleaning) say my goodbyes and jet back home. About 3 hours or so after they were complete, I get a call from the office telling me that everything is done and that Cochise is fine but that the procedure was a bit more complex than they first thought. This girl proceeds to tell me that they have irrigated his ears and did some special shit to his nails.
Me: Ummmm, why?

Girl: Well, Dr. B noticed that he had some build-up in his ears and felt that since he was already under that it would just be a good idea. And his nails were really long. So with the extra work done your bill is now $357.

Me: Mmmmm, I doubt that. Why did noone call any of the THREE phone numbers I have listed to ask me or Z for authorization?

Girl: Yes Ms. AR Gal, we are really sorry about that, I don't have an explanation.

Me: Mmmmmmm. ok so when will he be ready to pick up?

Girl: Around two o'clock.

Me: Ok, I'll see you then.
Now I know you're thinking why isn't this girl going off by now right? If not, humor me and play along. I knew they were in some kind of violation but I had to call the state board to make sure. Why? 'Cause I like to have all my cards in play when I'm dealin in bullshit.
I call and state my case to the lady and without missing a beat she tells me they cannot do that. I asked her what needs to happen next and she said try talking to the vet (which I was already going to do) and if then he still didn't want to remove the charges to file a complaint. She then asks who my vet is and I tell her. Her response: "Ohhhhhhhhhhh noooooooooooo!! I really hate that but the laws the law." You would have that I said Jesus or something how she responded. See my vet is one of the best in Central AR and is known for his work but I didn't give a damn today.
With that assurance under my belt, I make my way to the office, enter and speak politely. As I step up to the desk , the girl wants to go ahead and have me pay. Ehhhhhhhhhhh, no. I tell her I would like to speak with the doctor first. She seems a little surprised but walks me back to a room. As he enters, we are cordial but he knows I am upset by the look on my face and tell him so. He tells me that he thought I knew about the ear issues and that I wanted that done. Ummmmm, COME AGAIN? I know every spring he goes through this infection thing and we have to get medicine for it but noone said anything about his ears when they were examined just here LAST WEEK for his check-up. He then says yeah but it's harder to actually gauge the extent and since he was already laying there we were better able to see. I told him that I got that and I'm not saying that it was not needed but noone.called.to.ask.me.if.it.was.okay. That is my issue with this, a decision was made w/out my consent. He wasn't gonna die if someone took 5 minutes to pick up the damn phone to call....shit. That's just like you taking your car to the repair shop and them doing work on your car w/out calling to tell you and expecting you to pay. Bump that! I told him that he may not have known but that vet. asst. did and this was unacceptable. We continued to talk and just as I was about to trump him with the state board violation, he goes to get the bill so we can review and proceeds to mark off everything I didn't want to pay for.....which was everything except for the dental extraction and cleaning thank you very much.

Now see, wasn't that easy? *rollin my eyes*

Have you ever......

....... had a convo with one of your friends where you seriously just wanted them to STFU??!! This happened recently to me while speaking with a friend of mine on the way home from work. We had to cut our convo short as she was at the eye doctor and was just called back to the examining room. Not ten minutes later she calls me back:

Friend: You will NOT believe what just happened to me

Me: Nope...what?

Friend: Okay, so I had just gotten called back for the doctor to see me. She comes in the room to tell me that she will be right with me but she needs to take a call from her vet. She comes back in the room and just before she starts to examine my eye, she breaks down crying.

Me: Her pet must have been really sick or died.

Friend:How did you know?

Me: Weeeeeellllll, it was kinda obvious. Which one was it?

Friend: Girl, her dog died and then this bitch canceled my appointment.

Me: Yeeeeaaaah, that's hard to deal with so I could see why she would.

Friend: Puuulease! We're talking about a damn animal not a human being here!!!

Me: *hears record scratch in my head* Ummmm, what?

Friend: She should have just taken a few minutes to get herself together and come back in to do her job.

Me: Yeah, so you know you called the wrong one to vent to right?

Friend: What?

Me: *I repeat what I just said above* I hear what you're saying but a lot of people, such as myself and Z, think of their pets as family so when you have that loss it's hard.......extremely hard. I've lost a pet before, as you know, and that shit hit me like a ton of bricks. Unless you've had that experience it's hard to relate. I don't expect you to understand though.

Friend: I mean I understand the woman is sad but damn...I had to drive all the way from (insert small town AR about 20 minutes away from LR) to get there and now I have to drive back next with.

Me: I can sympathize with that BUT would you rather her have tried to examine you with tears and snot fallin down her face and doing a poor job at it? Me personally, I would have preferred that she rescheduled so that she could do her job with a fresh mind.

Friend: I guess. I may not even go back now...I'm pissed

Me: Bless your heart.

I was not upset about her feelings about the situation, I just really wanted her to shut up talking to me. I know she was upset and needed someone to vent to but I mean seriously.....*sigh*

Yeah I know...I have issues.

Me and you must neva part............

......ma ki bouncy ball.

Not to be outdone, Emma must get her two minutes of shame....I mean fame too.

Simply put, this dog is a freak of nature. Other than food and the 'rents, fetching is her reason for living. Ever since she grasped the concept, it's been non-stop ever since. Climbing a mountain, walking in hot temp's, getting her shots, sometimes not even dinnertime will make her stop. Nothing but death will keep her from it! Now I don't want folks to get the wrong impression. I love playing fetch with her (because truly it's funny to watch) but when I do certain things of a personal nature, I need her to understand that we need to take a time out.

Sadly we must ignore our precious baby girl sometimes in order for her to get the point that it's not all about her. I too had to learn this lesson and it was a hard pill to swallow. I do believe that it will take her a lot more pills (or a slightly bigger one) as she has quite the big head. It hurts my heart but it must be done.

That's just Nasty................

Dogs eat grass.....

Said grass sometimes makes dogs vomit.......

Vomit is not meant to stay in the body..........

Throwing up is not fun.............

Believe me, I know.............

Seeing a 90 lb. dog do it in front of your face is even less fun............

90 lb. dog usually gives a signal..........

When we see that we rush him outside................

No signal this go 'round....................

Vomit+ carpet= some really fucked up shit...................

Why didn't he move to the tile..................

He's done that before too...................

He's a smart dog........................

Carpet=not good.....................

Tile=still not good but better than carpet..................

Thank goodness for home steam cleaners.................

Thank goodness I happen to really love this damn dog.......................

Have You Ever Seen Such a Thing??!!

Look at my baby! Look closer....a little bit closer (@ her ass!) lol

**Please note: EmmaBuns (one of her many nicknames) was half asleep when I took this, lol**

She's wearing a diaper! I kid you not. My Emma has gone into heat and in the process her own personal Aunt Flow has paid her a visit. *sigh* I thought I had at least another month before this happened. Oh well.

I first noticed this Friday but goodness only knows how long she has actually been in this stage. I don't think it was more than a couple of days before that but just not knowing has freaked me out. After tiring of getting her in and out of (and washing and re-washing) her rigged up rag draws I made, Z suggested that we get some diapers from Pet.Smart. WHAT??!! lol lol lol I had no idea that these even existed but they do!! So for $12, we now have peace of mind in knowing that she is not makin it rain all over the house.

In the meantime, I just need to call the vet to make an appointment to get her fixed (which I keep forgetting to do). I guess now would be a good time huh? :-)

Giving you what I got....musically
