Preacher's Kid (aka PK)

While typing the previous post, I remembered that PK had tried to get in contact with me recently. I received a call around September or October last year from him while I was at work. Normally when I get a message from someone unfamiliar, I just hit the erase button and call it a day but it was something about the voice I heard that made me keep it.....well that and the fact that I heard my full name. The message as it played out basically said he was looking for me, stated his name (which I couldn't understand), and said that he would call back at a later time. I listened to the recording he left repeatedly for days and could not figure out what name was being said or who the voice belonged to. I even made Z listen a few times to see if he could decipher anything. After about the 5th day of trying to figure it out, I finally struck gold and heard the name ......Preacher's Kid. I literally screamed out loud because the mystery had been solved. I also figured out the reason I couldn't understand him is because when he stated his name some noise was interfering (it kind of sounded like someone was talking over a loudspeaker) and he didn't repeat himself.

After calming down, I then wondered...what the hell did/does he want? I wish I could tell you but he has yet to call back. I must admit I was initially bummed out because curiosity got the best of me and I wanted to know what was up and how he was doing. I haven't laid eyes on him or talked with him in like 15 years and it would be awesome to catch up. Random thought.....every time I refer to something in the past using double digits like that I feel old as hell. Anyway, I know that he got married not too much longer after he split from our hometown, lives in NC (or was the last time I heard) and had a couple of kids (gotta love the small town grapevine network). Oh well, for what it's worth I hope all is well with him.

Cherry Pop

I was over at Freaky D’s spot the other day reading over a post of his. As I made a comment in reference to the first time, my first time popped in my head. I still remember it to this day and just like it was yesterday. The memory is just terrifying and memorable as it was then.

I was 16 at the time which means it was 1993…the summer of that year to be exact. My first boyfriend and the love of my life (until the next one came along) had come over to the house to visit me. I thought this guy was the greatest thing since sliced bread him being my first boyfriend and all. He was tall (6’4”), a bit chubby, not so dark, had a deep voice, and was handsome. His parents were well known because his dad was a preacher. Ya’ll know what they say about PK’s (preacher’s kids) right? They weren’t lyin. This of course was a plus for me because it meant I knew my mom wouldn't scrutinize him half to death since he came from good people.

When he arrived, he did his normal greeting and chatted with my mom until she excused herself into her bedroom which was the next room over. I went and took a seat in one of the chairs because my mom was taking too long running her mouth as usual. I still remember the thought that went through my head as she continued to ramble on, “She’s just doing this on purpose because she doesn’t want us to be alone.” LMAO Now that I think about it, it was probably partly true.

Anyway, so she leaves and he goes over to the couch to have a seat. We started making conversation about whatever was on tv and I get up to get something to drink. I ask him if he wants something, he says yes and I come back with our cups and sit down on the couch next to him. After awhile, he puts his arm around my shoulder movie style and I scoot a little closer. At this point, he is ready to make his move so he asked me something really silly (I can’t remember what right now) that ‘caused me to have to turn my head toward his face. Then it happens….he plants one on me. Finally, I thought! It’s not like we hadn’t kissed before but whenever we did it was always exciting because I got a serious case of the butterflies. It kind of feels like I got them again thinking about it typing this post….so stranjay!

One thing leads to another (read heavy petting) and we end up on the floor. He’s laying on top of me when I feel the bulge happen. Once again, this was nothing new because our kissing sessions tended to get hot and heavy. So then I hear him ask if I wanted to. Wanted to what, I ask back. So he gives me this look and I just stare and ask understanding what he means…are you serious? Here…now? He says yes but only if I want to. This goes on for another minute or so until I finally say yes. *sigh* Every time, I think about this the same question goes through my head…..what the fuck where you thinking??? He proceeds to unzip his fly and put the condom on while I scoot out of my shorts. Then well, you know what happens next except remember this is my first time ever so I had no clue as to what I was about to experience. I was just horny and ready to do it. *smdh* While we’re kissing, I feel him easing the tip in when he (accidentally) falls on me. Like literally all of his weight collapses on (and in) my body including his you know what. Oh.my.lawd!!!! All I felt was pain and my face showed it. My eyes and my mouth shot open and I drew in a gasp of big air. PK new exactly what happened so he covers my mouth with his hand and just starts saying I’m sorry over and over and over. After I recover and was able to talk he asked if I was okay. I say yes and he asked if I wanted to continue. I figured why not, you’re still in there so keep on. Of course he never came close to rocking my world, but the feeling wasn’t so bad after the initial ummmmmmm entry.

A bit of time passes when I hear a door open…the door to my mom’s bedroom to be more exact. I don’t know if time sped up or slowed down but the time it took for him to scoot against the couch (and cover up his lower half with his shirt) and for me to scoot against the side of the chair (so she wouldn’t see my half nekkid behind) was less than a second…I promise!

Mama: PK, you have a phone call, it’s your sister.

PK: Ok.

Mama: You can get it in the kitchen

PK: Ok, thank you.

I couldn't turn around but I hear her still standing there and I knowing my mom like I do, she is wondering why the boy wasn’t moving. Lol

Mama: Well are you gonna get the phone.

PK: Yes ma’am, I’m getting up now.

I don’t know if she sensed something was up or she just got tired of waiting on him to actually get up from the floor but she turned around and headed back in the other room. It was then that I realized I was holding my breath and let the air escape. My heart was racing and I was damn near close to tears. While he headed off to the kitchen I quickly gathered my draws and shorts and put them back on. My head was down and I saw a blood stain on the carpet. Shit, I thought. I ran to the laundry room to get something to put down on the carpet to clean it up with. Luckily the cleaner was strong because the stain came right on up.

PK, finishes up his call and tells me he will have to leave in about an hour because he has to pick his little sister up. I told him we should step outside to talk. The conversation consisted of nothing more than we were SO glad that we didn’t get caught, I love you, blah blah blah. Of course the topic of when to do it again came up since we didn't get a good start. We decided that next time we would have to actually have to be somewhere that there was privacy (no shit sherlock) and we did. The next time we did it at his folks house while everyone was gone. :-)

Free Stuff

So I ventured out to Dillard's Friday to take advantage of the giveaways due to the cosmetics settlement. I took a shot first at the mall closest to my job, found the table, signed a named to a sheet of paper, looked at some jewelry on clearance and then a thought crossed my mind. Instead of wasting time here, I can zoom on over to the other mall and take a shot to see if they had any stuff left there. I figured it was a win-win situation because even if they had run out, Chick-fil-a was right across the street and I could get my nuggets and waffle fries (w/Polynesian sauce). *swoons*

It turns out I was in luck because they had plenty left to give away. There were two ladies working the table at this mall and the older of the two informed some of us in line that we could come back through if we wanted. All we had to do was wait about 5 minutes or so. Word?! Thank goodness the line wasn't long because I would have reconsidered waiting. In between, I would dart over into jewelry look (very briefly) and get back in line. I ended up going through 3 times so I could have two of each thing (Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair & Clinique Moisture Surge) they were giving away.

While waiting in line the last time, this lady came up and asked what we were waiting for. This guy (he was in line with his wife) and I told her about it. So then she asked what signing our name represents. I told her I have no idea but if she was concerned, just don't sign her real name, I didn't. Notice earlier when I went the first time, I said I signed a name. Truth be told it was kinda fun making up new names to write down. lol Anyway, so she goes on to say she still wasn't sure if she should do it. Ummmmm, mkay makes me no difference. I just told her I understand, smiled, turned away, got the last of my free ish and went on my way.

Needless to say, I'm pleased with the outcome. I got tons of free stuff and had Chick-fil-a for lunch. You can't beat that with a wooden stick!

I'm following suit.......

......and doing a brain dump post. Why? Well shit because I can!

I'm currently watching E.R. but I'm not really watching it like I was last week.

I like the character Neela. I've always thought the lady that plays her is so pretty.

I watched Grey's Anatomy this evening. It was pretty decent and way better than some previous episodes. I think Denny ghoolish ass is finally gone. I sure hope so because that storyline with he and Izzy is WHACKADOCIOUS!!!

Izzy is sick....thank goodness! I hope her character dies and shrivels up into a pile of pixie dust.

I watched Ugly Betty before that. It was pretty good too. If Betty stopped being "ugly" and had a swan moment, would the show still be called Ugly Betty? That question kept running through my head for whatever reason.

I walked and did 45 minutes of Tae-Bo today. Go me!

My neighbor, Mrs. B., fell and broke her hip Tuesday night.

I was relieved it happened after the President and First Lady's first dance.

Judge me if you want to, I'm just being honest.

Her sister-in-law, who lives with them, came over to get Z so he could help get her out of the garage where she fell. Some other dude that's a friend of theirs was there as well.

Z said he didn't want to move her and wanted to wait for the ambulance but dumb bumblefuck (their friend) had already lifted her off of the ground so he (Z) just proceeded to help her to the couch.

Her hip was probably already broken but still. *sigh* The road to recovery will be long and hard for her...especially since she's like 70 something.

I felt bad for Mr. B. This is not the first time this has happened. Mrs. B is always going to the hospital for something or another.

I can't stand people that try and throw you under the bus at work.

I really can't stand people that try and throw you under the bus at work that don't have their facts straight.

I may not like working but I know my job and all that it entails.

If you want to play games, I'd prefer if you save that for family night at your house but since you won't.....come harder next time bitch.

My Memphis folks are back at home from DC.

My STL fam will be leaving tomorrow.

Everyone sounds tired as hell. I'm sure it was memorable but honestly I'm glad I stayed at home.

I wish it was Friday night instead of Thursday night.

My boss won't be a work tomorrow. Hip Hip Hooray!!!!

One of my team mates is getting the can due to a re-org. Too bad because she's the one I liked the best. :(

Our Admin. Asst. still gets on my nerves. She's sweet but DAMN she's annoying!

I got my hair done yesterday. I had her whack the back and trim the sides. The cut I got last year was starting to grow out and looked crazy as hell.

I need to go spend some QT time with my man.

I'll holla!

It's official.......

......my favorite new show is "United States of Tara" on Showtime. I can't go into detail about the show because I am typing this from my cell so just google it. :-) I've always enjoyed watching Toni Collette act but let me tell you ole girl acts her ass off on this show. I highly recommend that you check it out if you have time.....and "The L Word" (which was fabulous tonight by the way.

Now it's time to watch "Big Love". Sunday night tv is great....at least when these shows are on.

Woman, thou art mad

For those of you not in the know, you can watch movies online for free. Not just any old movie, even though those are available as well, but new releases. Surf the channel (STC) has been locked in my favorites since a friend hipped me to it about a year or so ago. After growing tired of channel surfing and having nothing else to do this morning, I decided to boot up the laptop and see what new releases I could find online. Most times it's pretty much hit or miss if you will be able to view the movie. Sometimes you have to download stuff to watch and I'm not down with that so I just wait it out until a better online version comes along (ie when I remember to go back or wait until it comes out on cable if it is something I've deemed unworthy to view @ the theater.
Anyway, so I'm surfing through the list of films and see "Bride Wars" which is something I want to see but on my unworthy to view @ the theater list. I click the link and lo and behold, the movie starts playing. SCORE!!

The quality is sucky but it was clear enough for me to watch and not complain about so I stuck with it. So I'm watching and clipping coupons to go grocery shopping later today...WHAT? I know how to seize a multi-task opportunity! Like I said, I'm watching and laughing here and there when the movie just stops. I touch the mouse pad thinking too much time had passed and the laptop has gone to sleep. Ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhh....no. The message on the screen informs me of the following:

You have watched 72 minutes of video today. Please wait 54 minutes or click here to enjoy unlimited use of Megavideo

My face has the most screwy look on it but all I can do is crack up laughing like a mad woman. It was kinda scary...like for real. LMAO!!! This has never happened to me before so I'm kinda like in shock. You wanna know the killer though? When I last looked at the time left in the movie it was at 1:11 out of 1:23. Yes you read that right, there was only 12 minutes left in the damn movie and most of that was probably credits!! Bwahahahahahahahahaha

*sigh* I guess I'll finish clipping my coupons, making my list, and going to the grocery store. That will take up 54 plus minutes so I can finish watching the movie. Hey what can I say? I like to finish what I start.....most of the time. lol

UPDATED: I don't want to confuse anyone with what STC actually does. It pretty much is a vessel that shows all the movies that are available online to see. Once you click the movie name it takes you to a different page which gives you a choice of different links which lead to different websites. One of those sites is Megavideo which, as you know by now, has a time limit (72 minutes at a time, lol). I would suggest trying other links to view movies with so you won't be rudely interrupted during your movie watching experience like I was.

LOST AND FOUND

I don’t know about you but I hate it when I lose things….especially things I like a lot. Needless to say I was TOTALLY bummed out when I lost one of my sterling silver hoop earrings at Wally World Saturday.

Quick story: I had been searching high and low for THE perfect pair of SS earrings but never found the right ones because they were either too small, too big, too much money, etc. I even went on my fav website to buy SS jewelry (http://www.inspiredsilver.com/) and found a cute pair but changed my mind because I was unsure if they would be too small or too big. *sigh* It was close to the time I was going to Nashville and I remembered that they always have street vendors there selling all kinds of stuff including SS jewelry (at reasonable prices) so I chilled out and waited. Well, I sure am glad I did because as soon as I saw them I knew they were destined for my earlobes! I snatched them up (along with some shea butter, black soap and a few other knick knacks) and that was that.

I felt them in my ears as I walked around the store but as I made it to the cashier to check out, I swear I felt the left one fall. I stopped what I was doing and immediately reached up to my ear to make sure I wasn’t imaging things and sure enough it was gone. I checked my neck, my back….let me stop because this is starting to sound like a Khia song. Let’s just say I checked high and low and still found nothing. By this time someone walked up behind me in line so I completed my transaction, scanned the floor one more time and went to stand to the side. The cashier dude asked me if I lost something and I told him yes my earring. I told him to be on the lookout for it because I was going to go walk around the store just in case. I can’t say it was a complete and total waste of time because that extra walk did help me get closer to my 5000 steps that day. Lol

Admitting defeat, I trekked to my car with one earring in my ear which I snatched out as soon as I realized I only had one earring on. WHAT?! This ain’t the 80’s. That look is SO out of style (even though I’m sure it will be back in the next few years). I get home, tell Z, he mumbles something that sounded like sorry to hear that (*RME*), I pout for a little while, and then I forget about it. That is until yesterday.

I was searching around in my purse for my pack of gum when I came across the lone earring I snatched out of my ear. Then I saw something else shining in the light from the ceiling. I pushed the other junk in my purse out of the way and low and behold there it was……my other earring. I was so happy I could have done the Stanky Leg!! I was at work though and didn’t want the people to know how much of a fool I really am so I just smiled really hard and place them both back in my purse. I did make a mental note to do it (the stanky leg) when I got home but I didn’t because I forgot. It’s the story of my life.

Since I didn’t do the stanky leg and am back at the plantation, the least I could do is post some youtube foolishness of someone else doing it.

Dumb Questions

Z and I are sitting here watching the Giants-v-Eagles game. This was totally not my intent as I'm not a sports fan but I was online and didn't feel like taking the laptop to the bedroom so here I sit( for the record I am only half watching). Anyway, some player had just made a goofy play and the convo begins there.

Z:Did you see that?

Me: See what?

Z: What the dude on the field did with the football?

Me: Nope

Z: It looked just like something I saw on tv once. What's the name of that show Bill Cosby had?

Me: *Lookin at him crazy as hell* The Cosby Show?

Z: Uhhh, yeah. *laughs*

Me: You're dumb Bwahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

He was trying to explain an episode on The Cosby Show when Heathcliff played football or something and the play on the field he saw reminded him of that scene. I can't even remember whatever episode he was talkin about because I am still over here laughing at his crazy behind. lol

My apologies to all Giants fans and congrats to Eagles fans.

Some things I've noticed........

...............while being at home today and last week.

  • I really like watching tv court shows. The People's Court, Judge Hatchett, Judge Karen, Judge Judy, Judge Mathis, Divorce Court, etc, etc, etc. It is quite entertaining.
  • My dogs get on my nerves wanting to constantly go outside but never want to stay outdoors long.
  • Movies on cable suck during this time of day.
  • Fit TV is the bomb.
  • Gillad on Bodies in Motion has still got it and can take my breath away. Have you ever tried his workout routines?
  • I hate this commercial. Why was the courtroom scene shot inside a church?

I'm so blue........

....what is I'm gone do???!!!!

Z and I have been off from work since 12/23 and have been THOROUGHLY enjoying our time in vacation bliss. Now that time is drawing to a close as we have to report back on 1/5. *sigh* I knew the time would fly by though...it always does when you're having fun. The killer is, we haven't really done much of anything out of the ordinary. We have just been lounging around enjoying each others company. I know, it sounds boring but I promise you it has been anything but.

Next week is gonna suck getting back into the swing of things, big time, but I shall push on because I must. Plus I need the paycheck so ummmm yeah. I suppose the best thing to do is just make the most of the time remaining because like it or not, Monday is coming. *bigger sigh*

Do you guys get like this after you've been off from work on vacation? I know I can't be the only one.

When is the next holiday because I'm already ready for another break! lol

Giving you what I got....musically
