Stream of Consciousness Tuesday

I didn't set a timer...just watching the clock in the bottom right hand corner of the screen. Today is the last day of my five day weekend. I've had a good and relaxing time. I took in a movie (Bridesmaids) today. The chick that played Dougie's sister totally stole the show. She's hilarious. I recommend going to check it out. It's a good chick flick that's not too "chickie" if that makes any sense at all.

I went to Memphis Friday after a visit to the car repair place. I'd been experiencing some vibration\shaking in the steering wheel when braking. Before driving up, I called and spoke with one of the tech's. He asked me of the steering wheel was shaking OR vibrating. Ummmm, dude isn't taht the same thing?

Sidenote-the typo is killin me. There goes another one. Shinickers!

After that I had lunch with friends and made my first visit to the contai.ner sto.re. Yes, my first ever. I purchased a fuzz ball shaver thing. I don't know the exact name for it but it's a contraption that gets rid of the ball thingamajigs that form on your shirts\sweaters. I haven't tried it yet but I've got quite a few sweaters that need it desperately. The underarm and side boob area are always the worst for me.

Memphis was Memphis. Boring as hell but nice to visit with the family. The kids, who are usually bum rushed out of town by my sister as soon as school is out to their dad's, were in town because of activities they have going on.

I made it there only to discover that the car repair folks had fixed my issue but created another. The brakes were pop, lock and droppin' when I slowed down or turn the steering wheel to the right. WTH? I called the next day and let them know. I went back today to have them take a look. All is now well in the world and with my steering\braking contraptions.

Crap, I'm over by like 3 minutes. I guess that's what I get for not using a timer. Oh well.........

This was my 5 8 minute Stream of Consciousness Tuesday post. I got this from Nerd Girl, who got it from Babs, who got it from Rose’s Daughter, who probably got it from someone else. It’s five minutes of your time and a brain dump. Want to try it? Here are the rules…

  • Set a timer and write for 5 minutes only.
  • Write an intro to the post if you want but don’t edit the post. No proofreading or spellchecking. This is writing in the raw.
  • Publish it somewhere. Anywhere. The back door to your blog if you want. But make it accessible.
  • Add the Stream of Consciousness Sunday badge to your post. (I don't have a badge...sowwies)
  • Link up your post below.
  • Visit your fellow bloggers and show some love.

When in Rome…………

This post has nothing to do with the title but I couldn’t think of anything catchy to name it. Perhaps I should have left it blank. Oh well, who cares.

So, in the midst of updating you guys on some of the shenanigans going on in the life and world of AR Gal I forgot one of the juicer items. Remember this? Good Lord in heaven I sure hope all of you (who were reading at the time) do because it took me FOREVEEEEEEEEEEEEER to find it in my archives.

Sidenote: Going back and reading some of the older posts and comments was fun. There are quite a few bloggers I need to check back in on to see what they are up to.

Long story short, (used to be) Ace Boon Koon and I are back on speaking terms again. It's not by any means the same relationship we once had but we've been talking off and on for the past few months. Our 'reunion' was a quite the random one. If someone would have told me that we'd run into each at Tarjay during my lunch hour, I would have said nuh uh and called 'em a big ole' fat lie. As life has it, that's exactly how it unfolded.

I didn't see her but she saw me from behind and called out my name. Even in my shocked state we hugged like old friends. And, we talked for a long time. Inside the store as we found our purchases and outside in the parking lot. We covered a lot of things but kind of skimmed over whatever it was that caused us to go our separate ways. She apologized as did I. I'm still not totally sure I did anything wrong but it seemed like the right thing to do at the time. Ya know, just in case I did.

That's pretty much it. No Lifetime movie here. We're friends again. I guess that's the right way to describe it. Maybe we just associates now. I'm not sure. Maybe I'm over thinking it. I guess it will come to me\us in time.

A little bit of this....a little bit of that

Ay yo! So I'm sitting here watching RHOC and decided that I should blog. Soooooo random!
  • Alexis is totally jealous and hatin' on the other housewives.
  • Why she's not capable of functioning without her husband for a few hours during a dinner is outside of my realm of comprehension.
  • Her husband is a controlling ass. Personally, I would enjoy the time away (from him) but that's just me.
  • Sooooooooooooo, my sister is preggers.........ah-gane. Yep the one that had this bundle of joy.
  • She hasn't told our mom yet as she is not ready to hear her opinionated reaction. LOL!
  • For her sake, I hope it's not another boy but as long as he\she is healthy that's all that really matters.
  • To this day, Mistah and I STILL crack up laughing at this. Don't let the song come on the radio. #stickaforkinme
  • Remember this dude? I sent the anonymous letter. He's still wreaks. I no longer work with him in any capacity (other than being in the same building) but occasionally see him and catch a whiff of that funky stuff.
  • Speaking of work, we're going through yet another re-org. Thankfully, this time with no job loss. I'm currently working on two teams. One temporarily until who knows when. Temp team wants to keep me (and quite honestly it makes more sense for me to be with that group) but office politics has gotten in the way of that. So for now, I'm with them until I'm not. Then it's back to my permanent team. So retarded but hey I still have a job.
  • This chick is still bamming folks. It brings me mucho joy.
  • Remember my BFF's knight in rusty armor? Guess what? He's back in jail for (practically) the exact same shit he did before. He had a wreck while drinking and driving in the car with their child......ag-gane. My words to her, "I love you and usually refrain from telling you (and others) how to live your life but don't let that nigga back in your house or your life." There was, undoubtedly, A LOT more to that convo but that statement pretty much summed up how I feel.
  • It really sucks because she has such a big heart and is WAY nicer than I can ever imagine being. That big heart sometimes gets in the way of her using good judgement. I fear that once he gets out (this summer), that she'll take him back.
  • Ummmmmm, what else?
  • Tornados watch\warnings\sirens=scary
  • Rain=peaceful until it ain't. (see above)
  • Beyond ready for vacation this summer.
  • Osama Bin Laden is dead.

Gooooooooooood Morning Vietnam!!!

I'm working on a whopping four hours of sleep this morning. And here I thought waking up was going to be the challenge after being off all this time. As if! I planned on getting a full eight hours or at least really, really, really close to it. I spent half of that time up wide awake partially due to a pounding headache. Once I realized my head would not stop hurting, I threw the covers off angrily and took some med's.

Still....no sleep or relief.

Hmmmmm, maybe sitting up will stop the blood from rushing to my head and alleviate my pain. I'm no WebMD but it did help some. I was still bright eyed and Emma was quite bushy tailed that she got to sleep in my lap while I channel surfed. The OWN Network looks like it may be interesting but I thought that damn show with Doctors Oz and Phil and Suze would never end.

How could someone not know that magnesium helps move your bowels? I grew up in a household where Milk of Magnesia was the norm so it's second nature to me. How could you go five days and not poop? Seems like a person would explode or at the very least become really ill. I guess not. I hope that one chick has a BM soon.

I don't think the 52 year old virgin lady will ever get any. I wonder if she has dildos. Would she still be considered a virgin if she uses one but never has sex with a man?

My brain can be both weird and raunchy.

Some relief....still no sleep so I decided to take a bath. That always helps soothe me especially close to midnight. *sigh*

It worked. I'm all ready to go. Problem is, so was Mistah. All my tossin' and turnin' kept him from sleeping peacefully. What's a girl to do? Lift a leg....it's the least I could do.

Don't feel too sorry for him. He busted one annnnnnnnnnnnnd realized (at the very last minute) that he was off today too.

Bastid.

I'm in lurve!

I was so nervous about the install, specifically the service person's ability to show up on time....if at all. You guys know the deal especially when given the dreaded appointment slot time frame. Well ours was from 9-11 am and I'm happy to report he made it here right before ten. So far, we are thoroughly impressed with what U-Verse has to offer. The service has so many wonderful, wonderful, WONDERFUL features! Wanna know what I'm most excited about? The health and fitness on demand option. I'll never have to buy another fitness DVD ever again!!

Freaky, Barista and Southern were correct, it's great! Needless to say, I highly recommend it as well. If you ain't got it.....GET IT!!!!

And now for a musical selection...........................

A little bit of this, a little bit of that....................

  • I'm watching the Mariah Carey (aka Freaky D's future baby mama) Christmas special. The only thing I keep thinking is why must she insist on wearing those too short dresses. When I say her 'fits are barely grazing the surface..........
  • The j-o-b gave us a free half day this past Friday. Part of that time was lunch catered by the cafe (run by Ar.a.ma.rk) next door. It wasn't mandatory that we attend. I didn't. I haven't eaten there (or the food they prepare) since I received a not so pleasant lunch entree' and also confirmation that one of the cooks (who I already gave the side-eye to) was way past unsanitary. I'll pass on the nutsack sammies TYVM!
  • A co-worker and I opted to go eat at our favorite restaurant in the River Market The Flying Fish.
  • I had to take the car in for some work so she and another co-worker (that joined us after the our respective lunches) followed me to drop my car off and we went to the movies to see....get this. Burlesque. Bwahahahahahahahahaha It's definitely not the type of movie I would have chosen BUT we were looking to do something and one of us (not I) loves those types of films so there ya go. All in all, it wasn't that bad. Not the greatest movie but entertaining nonetheless.
  • I want to watch "The Nutcracker" really bad. Hopefully it will be on soon.
  • Mistah and I upgraded our cells this weekend. A BB Torch for me and a newer iPhone for him. I'm still trying to get used to the touchscreen. Thank goodness it has the qwerty keyboard for transitioning folk like me.
  • Wow, Mariah's mom has a beautiful voice. It sounds like she was classically trained in opera.
  • We are making the jump to AT&T U-Verse this weekend. Anyone know anything about their service? Should we call and cancel before they come to do the install? No really, should we? The main thing guiding our decision is that for the money we pay now, we will get TONS more stuff (in addition to what we already have) including TV One (which I only get to watch while I'm in Memphis) and bookoos of sports crap for Mistah. Oh and yes MrsTDJ, a DVR. LOL I think we are probably one of the few people in the country that has survived without one. I still don't think I'll use it much but hey only time will tell.
  • I'm black and I love cold weather!!! LOVE.IT! Well, except when it's really windy or when its so cold\icy the power goes out. Even I admit that sucks.
  • I also love Tabitha's (on Salon Takeover) haircut. It is most bad ass. Anyone watching? I know the format of the show is pretty much the same each week but her ability to rip assholes effectively is really impressive. Did you all see last week's episode with those folks living in that nasty, junky house? UGH! I don't see how she slept on that couch!!!
  • Who watched the Real Houseslores of ATL last night? Have you drawn up your friend contracts yet? I'm almost finished with my first batch.
  • Oh yeah, annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd there will be a Teen Mom 2. If the original Teen Mom ends, I hope they at least do a finale season. I need closure!!!
  • The token crazy bitch on my team has been identified and it only took her three weeks to show her true colors. Throwing temper tantrums and storming out of meetings does not a professional make and that's all I gotsta say about that.
  • I almost bought my first Christmas present this weekend. I was going to pick up a copy of 'Despicable Me' for the boys. I looked all over the electronics department for that DVD. Figuring it was sold out, I asked one of the cashiers....ya know just to confirm. The thing doesn't come out until Tuesday. *sigh*
  • If you've never seen Black Dynamite, please do yourself a favor and go rent or buy it. In the words of Barista, best.shit.ever.
  • Ummmm, what else? Nothing. I'm out.

TIREd

In all my days, I have never had as many issues with tires on a vehicle as I have in the past 30 days. Flats, screws\other miscellaneous objects, tire patches\new tire....OH MY!

I'm sick of this shit.

And now for a musical selection.....

A little bit of this....a little bit of that.........

  • I'm officially back at home. After being gone for almost two weeks straight, I can say that I don't like being away from my lovah that long. I hope to never have to be apart from him that long again BUT hey you have to do what you have to do. Unfortunately for him, Mama trumps schlong. Fortunately for us, he knows that and feels the same way.
  • I'm also back at work....physically anyway. My mind wasn't quite there. At least it was quiet at the plantation today.
  • We had an opportunity (via work) to go the AR Black Hall of Fame shindig this past weekend. With me being in Memphis (and finding out last minute), I had to decline as I didn't have time to go look for a dress and get my hair done. I heard from one of my co-workers it was really nice. Oh well, maybe next time...if there is a next time.
  • The weekend didn't vary much from the norm. We rented a few movies and did what lovers do. It's a wonder I'm not barefoot and pregnant. #allpraisestobirthcontrol
  • The state fair was here (it ended this past Sunday) but I wasn't interested in going. I think the only way I will be convinced to go again is if we kidnap someone's kid to take with us. LOL Don't get me wrong, I love a good turkey leg, corn dog and funnel cake (which is pretty much all I eat when I go) but I gets ty'red of shuckin' and jivin' around rowdy teen's just so I can walk.
  • My mama is doing really well. She got the all clear from the doctor last week to resume normal activities. She's doing just that (in moderation of course) but not before she dragged me to the furniture store to purchase some new furniture for the den. It was needed though. My grandma, rest her soul, would be happy to know that her leather-ish sofa, recliner chair, end and coffee table were well used even after she left us. :)
  • Funny story. While waiting for the doc to come in the room for her post-op check-up, I notice her pulling her pants down.
Me: Mama, what are you doing?
Mama: Pulling my pants down.
Me: Ummmmm, why?
Mama: He needs to be able to see the incision.
Me: Well um couldn't you just pull the elastic part of your pants down so just the incision shows when he comes in as opposed completely pulling down your pants?
Mama: Girl hush, he's already seen it. *pointing down yonder*
Me: *cracks up laughing* Well, alrighty then. Carry on.
  • My (and Southern Gal's) college alma mater's homecoming is in a couple of weeks. I think I'm going to skip the party(ies) this year. I just want to hang out and catch up at someone's house and throw back some dranks. I said the same thing last year and ended up going out. Go figure.
  • I wrote an entire post about a local Bishop stepping down because of an affair he had with a parishioner. Then, I deleted it. I didn't like what I wrote so I scrapped it. Jameil, was the only lucky one to read it (I think). Thanks for the comment lady. :) Now, I'm thinking I should have saved it because it wasn't that bad. Oh well.
  • Joan Rivers on Fashion Police......killer.
  • I'm ready for it to be like 40 to 50 degrees all day long so I can put on my tights. Don't taze me KRock!
  • And I think I'm ready for bed. Holla!

Tuesday, October 05, 2010

A little bit of this, a little bit of that..............

  • So I'm in Memphis....not quite bored to tears but I am ready to go home. What?! I didn't say this would be fun. Ah well, I must grin and bear it. :)
  • My FB peeps already know this but no fancy cable=no Bravo network=I missed the RHOA season premiere last night (and will miss any and everything else on Bravo that I want to watch this week....and next). *drops two tears in a bucket*
  • I've still got E! though so I can watch my beloved Chelsea Lately and Joan Rivers on Fashion Police. Both of those hags crack me up.
  • Speaking of, hookers start hookin' early around these here parts and apparently are quite ambitious too. I stopped to get gas yesterday and witnessed the most bold act (my eyes have ever seen) of entrepreneurial spirit ever. Can you say tip drill?
And now for a musical selection.......

I'm so pissed.................

at my sister right now I could SCREAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've always known she was an idiot but she confirmed it for me this morning.

Long story short. After she (and my aunt (my mom's half sister)) spoke with the doctor yesterday afternoon, he explained what all he had done. During the conversation, he also explains that while the surgery was successful it wasn't necessarily needed (i.e. the situation wasn't as critical as it was made out to be). So now she and my aunt are thinking she did it for attention.

*SIGH*

Okay, whatever. My take? Well, it's done now. Right? Right. I got the impression from my mom that she felt it was needed so that's all I really needed to know.

My sister on the hand? Weeeeeeeeeeelllllllllllll, she's mad at our mom for having the surgery and is refusing to take off work next week to sit with her (like we all agreed two weeks ago). She'd take the first full week, me the second and my oldest sister the third. After that, we figured she'd be at the half-way recovery mark so if the doc cleared it, she would come back down to our house and stay with us (in AR) for as long as she needed.

She claims since the cut was not horizontal versus vertical that it shouldn't take her as long to recover and that she would be fine as long as she wrapped some band around her stomach and moved around. And I quote, "As long as she doesn't get dizzy or anything, it will be okay. I had to do it, she can do it too".
o_O

And who prey tell will be there to know if she is you f'in MORON???????!!!!!!! And for the record, you were in your 20's....she's damn near SEVENTY YEARS OLD!!! BIG DIFFERENCE.....HUGE!

This was just one of many lame ass reasons she gave.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

I don't want to speak with her again but I'm sure all three of us will be on the phone hashing it out this evening. I doubt if she'll change her mind so I'm sure I'll be working remotely from Memphis for two weeks straight since my other sister won't be able to maneuver as easily with three small kids.

Bottom line: she had the surgery, she needs to be looked after. Our relationship is far from perfect but when push comes to shove, she's still our mother.

As you can see, I needed to vent. And now for a musical selection...........

Mama update.........

Mama's out of surgery. Everything looks good and is more importantly BENIGN!!!!

Thank you Lord!!!

And thanks to all of you that left kind words and prayed on her behalf.

My mama...................

Please say a prayer, send up good thoughts, be hopeful for my mother today as she goes into surgery.

Long story short, she had a partial hysterectomy after I was born and they are going in to finish the job today. Because of other issues she's been having, the doctor will also be checking out other stuff to make sure there is no cancer involved.

I'm scared but am trying HARD to stay in the positive.

Take it or leave it........

After we got to Memphis Saturday, I informed my mom that the kids had about $100 left from the money their parents had sent down with them. She advised me that I should keep it. I told her that wouldn't be right and that I wasn't comfortable with keeping money that was not intended for me. Now if I found some money in bank bag in the parking lot of a store.....totally different. LOL!!

Mama: Well if you don't want it, I'll take it.

Me: (head cocked to side side) Mother, really..........*sigh*

Mama: I'm just saying with the time and gas you spent picking them up and dropping them back off it's only fair. How about I have a conversation with her in private about it?

Me: Ummmmmm, no. It's not that serious.

Mama: Suit yourself.

I was talking with Mistah about it after I returned and he said that he agreed with my mom. Along with the things she mentioned, he stated that I had taken a week off from work to do this and had dedicated seven full days to caring for these kids. And even though it was paid time, it was still time that I didn't have to take off if I didn't want to.

Exactly. I didn't have to. I could have told her no at any point but I chose to do it. Actually the original plan was for them to drive down to our house and pick the boys up. I opted to drive them back because I wanted peace and rest during the remainder of the weekend. Adding two additional adults (one of which probably would have wanted to cover the entire central AR area visiting folks during the short time she was here) and an eight month old child to the mix would have definitely not allowed that to happen.

$100 is a lot of money to me but not enough to create unnecessary drama....especially when it wasn't mine in the first place.

What about ya'll? Would you have taken the money?

Name that baby!!!!

OMG, I'm so hating blogger right now. Please excuse the janky font and spacing.

The local news station I watch in the morning loves to interact with their viewers via FB. Quite honestly, I think the morning team has one of the cushiest jobs ever. With only having to do a few interviews, a little weather, read the previous night’s news on the teleprompter and comments to questions they post on FB each day for a couple of hours, I’d say they’ve got it made.

One of the reporters on the show is pregnant with twins and is scheduled to give birth sometime today. So of course the FB topic today centers around babies, more specifically baby names.

Good morning! In honor of _________ set to give birth later today we are talking about baby names. A list of fastest rising baby names in America was just released. Tune into to To.da.y.s T-H--V This Morning at 5:40 to see what they are and we want to know the most unusual name you've ever heard. Do you have a child with an unusual name?

This topic piqued my interest as I had a love\hate (mostly hate) relationship with my uncommon name growing up. I used to curse my mom silently in my head (especially during my tween/early teen years) for giving me such an unusual name. The kids, with their mean asses, teased me mercifully. “Hey Woolite!”, they would say. (Go ahead and laugh.) “Why couldn’t she have named me Nicole, Melissa, Sarah, or Elizabeth?”, I asked. Hell, I would have been happy with Ann (or so I thought). Then I found out why she named me what she did. For those of you not in the know or that may not remember, my father passed away in a car accident right down the street from our house while my mom was pregnant with me. I found out later in life that she, not surprisingly, almost miscarried me. In order to honor my father, she decided to name me after him. Because there was no way of determining my sex (that I know of anyway) it was decided if I were a boy I would be a Jr. (of course) if I were a girl (insert my real name here).

Luckily, time has a way of sorting these things out. Even though my mom got the idea of my first name from a street sign in Memphis (no lie), I’ve grown to love it and wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world. Some of the names on the list however? Not so much.

Here are some the unusual names and comments on the post that stood out to me:

Statia

Zing Lee

Typhne...(Tiff-nee not Tiffany) Their words not mine.

Christmas Snow

Iwon (this one made me crack up laughing)

Lexus Mercedes (her last name was also a car) Again, their words not mine. I’m going to go out on a limb and guess her last name is Ford. How dreadful.

Shanda Leir

Arieah Ozma Kaylieth

My great aunt was named Dewdrop. She married a man with the last name Snowball. So she was Dewdrop Snowball!

i went to school with a girl named Whiskey

I once new a girl named Merry Christmas

I know this family. Disney Land has a little brother named Ty Land. Sweet kiddos

I have a uncle named Theron, and a cousin named Booger, for real........

here is list for you of live children and I still can't believe their parent named them this: maryjuana
Conception
Hennesy
Fiancé
Chavoka

I’m not going to ask you to name any of the most unusual names you’ve ever heard but if the spirit moves you then so be it.

And now for a musical selection...............

I suck...............

So BBA numbers two and three made an impromptu visit with Granny (my mom) yesterday. The plan was for me to take my mom's car to the airport (she left it at the house so she wouldn't have to pay for parking) and they would ride out to Memphis. After speaking with her yesterday afternoon before the plane took off, I pretty much knew they would be staying the night. Apparently getting through security with two small children was enough to tire her out. Hell it would probably tire me out too.

After returning to the house, I got the kids fed and took them over to the school next door so they could play and run off some of their energy and excitement from seeing me the dogs. About 20 minutes in, BBA number three showed signs of extreme crankiness and crying. Now I don't know nothing about birthin' or raisin' no babies but I do know what that means in Mommyland. NAP/BEDTIME!! I told his big brother (BBA number two) he had about ten more minutes and we were heading back to the house. BBA number three's cries were getting louder (and quite honestly more embarrassing). Thank goodness only a few people were out there with us. Then, he wanted his mommy. Being the good Auntie I am, I pulled out my phone and called her. After listening to their conversation on speakerphone, it was pretty obvious that my big sister was more interested in her nap than her spawn's need for her. Imagine that! LOL

BBA number two headed over to the another piece of play equipment to enjoy the last few minutes and surprisingly BBA number three followed. I walked over to join them and BBA number three announces "I SUCK".

Me: No you don't. What would make you say that?

BBA number three: Aunt AR Gal, I suuuuuuuuuuck

Me: *thinking what the hell*

BBA number two: He's saying he's sick

Me: Really? How the h..... thanks for telling me.

Sooooooooooo, I go and ask him where it hurts and he points to his belly.

Me: Do you have to boo boo?

BBA number three: Yes I have to boo boo

Me: Okay, we're leaving now.

He then proceeds to hurl chunks of the dinner and ice cream he had eaten.

Me: *screaming on the inside* BBA number two, let's go.

Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd he hurls again with bigger chunks.

Me: *turning his body the opposite way while secretly praying, please don't get it on me, please don't get it on me, please don't get it on meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee*

Nothing on this planet is as gross to me than seeing someone throw up. I mean really, it's disgusting.

After Vomitgate, we haul ass back to the house. I want to pick him but (1) he's heavy and (2) I really don't want this kid blowing chunks down my back or worse...in my hair! I started to call Mistah but then thought better of it. What if he does it in the car? OMG, ew. Good thing we only live less than a quarter of a mile from the school. Once we got close enough, I put my big girl panties on and picked him up but not after asking five times if he had to throw up any more.

We made it back to the house without any further incident and BBA number two and three were promptly given a bath and put.to.bed.

If this is a preview of what's to come, I'm in trouble.

Update on the update and other shenanigans.........

Sooooooooo, I still haven't decided what kind of car I want (thanks for all your suggestions). I don't think I will truly start narrowing down my imaginary list until I get the check. Speaking of, turns out I don't own a dime on the car and got money back. The lien folks said it was because of finance charges and the warranty I purchased. They don't disclose this information unless your car is totaled. Ain't that a blip?! At any rate, I'm not complaining. I'm rejoicing!

I ended up having to go to the doc for back and neck pain. It's nothing major. The human body is amazing....that's all I know.

Mom, drove in Saturday for me to take her to the airport. She'll return with the boys Saturday and they'll head back to Memphis. Even if I haven't purchased a car by the time they are scheduled to come down getting a rental won't be a big deal now. YAY!

Ummmmmmmm, let's see what else. My boss's last day is this Friday. Ya'll already that but I felt it needed repeating. LOL

I didn't get the other job. No worries. Did I tell ya'll I was sitting up in that interview sweating like a banshee??!! LOL

What else? Nothing. That's it.

Friends, Romans, countrymen, bloggers lend me your eyes.....................

It's a done deal. I'm getting another car.

Let the official car search phuckery begin.

In the spirit of this journey I'm on let's make this fun. I want any and all car suggestions from you BUT there are a few stipulations.
  • Four door vehicles only
  • No drop tops
  • Price....hmmmmmmmm do I want to limit the price. Yeah I do. Nothing over $20K.
  • No humongous SUV's. Tires on those sap suckas are expensive!
Those are the basics. Once everything is said and done regarding the claim, we are going to try and make this process as quick and painless as possible. I'm ready to get back to my type of normal life.

Oh and if anyone mentions a pre-owned Pinto like Mistah did............................

Do you remember girl?

As a matter of fact, YES I DO! It’s a year later and we all (I guess) miss the legend that is, was and will always be Michael Joseph Jackson. Just like his music, his passing will go down as one of the most memorable events in my lifetime……as will his memorial service.

July 7, 2009. As long as I live I will never forget this date. Okay that’s a lie. I probably will because my brain memory function is about as useful as trying to eat steak with a spork.

Side note: Whoever said that you have to bear children to have ‘mom brain’ was wrong!!!!

So picture it. I’m sitting at work streaming the memorial service while trying to put on a good work front hoping and praying that I could make it through the entire service without anyone disturbing me. Everything was going well. I had the appropriate mix of misty eye and poker face. Then, Paris approached the microphone.

Say it with me: DAMN, DAMN, DAMN!!!

Right as she begins to speak who but none other than Sh’Nike approaches my desk. I truly think this is when I began to dislike her. She had just started working in our group and had a question about something or another. I quickly brushed her off by informing her I didn’t know and suggested that she go ask my boss. Yes, unprofessional I know but I really didn’t give a shit. I needed to hear Michael’s spawn speak! What I didn’t realize is that she would go ask her like right then. UGH!!!!

Paris begins her speech and my eyes start to water again. I tried holding back the tears but they just wouldn’t stop flowing. All of the sudden, I hear this loud clomping and see (through the reflection of my privacy screen) that that both Sh’Nike and my boss are headed to my desk. GREEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAT!!! Yeah, Yeah I know I asked for it. I grabbed a Kleenex, dabbed my eyes and bit my tongue to try and make myself stop crying. My boss asked a question and I turned to them with semi-watery eyes. I noticed that they were both looking at me rather strange, as if they wanted to ask if something was wrong but weren’t sure if they should. I sure as shinola wasn’t about to divulge the fact that I was abusing company time multi-tasking while watching the memorial service. I remember our conversation was brief but by that time Paris
was pretty much done.

After they left, I sent my friend that I had been chatting with an IM about what had just transpired. While she laughed at me, I sulked at the fact that I would have to wait for replays to listen to Paris in full. THE HORROR!

Funny thing is I don’t think I ever really knew what Sh’Nike wanted.

And now, of course, for a musical selection. The baddest video mine eyes hath ever seent!

Wrecks-N-Effect

Had a wreck after work today.

It wasn't my fault.

I'm fine but tired.

The car is not.....hopefully it's not totaled. It's probably tired too though.

Funny thing is I was listening to the traffic report list of other wrecks in the city right before my accident.

Life is funny, ain't it?

Nothing comes close to the golden coast..........

especially the weather! I am almost tempted to move out to the Bay for that alone. Never mind the horrible unemployment rates and CA debt. That could be easily overlooked since you can wear a jacket in June.....IN JUNE!!!! I have longed for those breezy crisp days ever since I set foot back in Satan's lair (aka the south).

I am still a little tired from our time there but I had a lot of fun. The trip got off to an eventful start (Mistah would beg to differ I'm sure). After dropping the pups off at the kennel, I proceeded to drop his laptop on the ground after going through security.

If only he had remembered to take eh.ver.ree.ting out of his pockets like I told him instead of forgetting his wallet (which had some kind of magnet thingamajig in it) making him have to go through a separate screening it never would have happened. *exhales* As you can imagine, I was quite flustered having to corral all my crap and his crap together. Thanks to my flustererdness (shut up), I showed bad judgment by removing said laptop from the little gray bin and placing it on top of my suitcase while it was still on top of the roller things. Roller things moved and splat went the laptop. Oh and to the onlookers.....the loud gasps really didn't help.

To their credit, the TSA folks did make an attempt at trying to catch it before it hit the ground. There was a bit of physical damage but after I popped a couple of things back into place the only noticeable things are a couple of tiny weenie itsy-bitsy cracks. :D

GO MEAT!!!!!!

After making it the gate, we were informed that our flight would be delayed by an hour. This, of course, made us late to our connecting flight by a whopping 19 minutes which delayed our arrival into CA by two hours. FABOOSH!

As an aside, damn you SW Airlines! Ya'll know you could have held that f'in plane for us.......shit.

At any rate, we had a good time taking in the sites, visiting with Mistah's kin and made it there (and back) safe and sound. That's all that really matters.......oh and that I'm ready to go back for a visit.....or to live. :)
