Stream of Consciousness Tuesday

I didn't set a timer...just watching the clock in the bottom right hand corner of the screen. Today is the last day of my five day weekend. I've had a good and relaxing time. I took in a movie (Bridesmaids) today. The chick that played Dougie's sister totally stole the show. She's hilarious. I recommend going to check it out. It's a good chick flick that's not too "chickie" if that makes any sense at all.

I went to Memphis Friday after a visit to the car repair place. I'd been experiencing some vibration\shaking in the steering wheel when braking. Before driving up, I called and spoke with one of the tech's. He asked me of the steering wheel was shaking OR vibrating. Ummmm, dude isn't taht the same thing?

Sidenote-the typo is killin me. There goes another one. Shinickers!

After that I had lunch with friends and made my first visit to the contai.ner sto.re. Yes, my first ever. I purchased a fuzz ball shaver thing. I don't know the exact name for it but it's a contraption that gets rid of the ball thingamajigs that form on your shirts\sweaters. I haven't tried it yet but I've got quite a few sweaters that need it desperately. The underarm and side boob area are always the worst for me.

Memphis was Memphis. Boring as hell but nice to visit with the family. The kids, who are usually bum rushed out of town by my sister as soon as school is out to their dad's, were in town because of activities they have going on.

I made it there only to discover that the car repair folks had fixed my issue but created another. The brakes were pop, lock and droppin' when I slowed down or turn the steering wheel to the right. WTH? I called the next day and let them know. I went back today to have them take a look. All is now well in the world and with my steering\braking contraptions.

Crap, I'm over by like 3 minutes. I guess that's what I get for not using a timer. Oh well.........

This was my 5 8 minute Stream of Consciousness Tuesday post. I got this from Nerd Girl, who got it from Babs, who got it from Rose’s Daughter, who probably got it from someone else. It’s five minutes of your time and a brain dump. Want to try it? Here are the rules…

  • Set a timer and write for 5 minutes only.
  • Write an intro to the post if you want but don’t edit the post. No proofreading or spellchecking. This is writing in the raw.
  • Publish it somewhere. Anywhere. The back door to your blog if you want. But make it accessible.
  • Add the Stream of Consciousness Sunday badge to your post. (I don't have a badge...sowwies)
  • Link up your post below.
  • Visit your fellow bloggers and show some love.

A little bit of this....a little bit of that

Ay yo! So I'm sitting here watching RHOC and decided that I should blog. Soooooo random!
  • Alexis is totally jealous and hatin' on the other housewives.
  • Why she's not capable of functioning without her husband for a few hours during a dinner is outside of my realm of comprehension.
  • Her husband is a controlling ass. Personally, I would enjoy the time away (from him) but that's just me.
  • Sooooooooooooo, my sister is preggers.........ah-gane. Yep the one that had this bundle of joy.
  • She hasn't told our mom yet as she is not ready to hear her opinionated reaction. LOL!
  • For her sake, I hope it's not another boy but as long as he\she is healthy that's all that really matters.
  • To this day, Mistah and I STILL crack up laughing at this. Don't let the song come on the radio. #stickaforkinme
  • Remember this dude? I sent the anonymous letter. He's still wreaks. I no longer work with him in any capacity (other than being in the same building) but occasionally see him and catch a whiff of that funky stuff.
  • Speaking of work, we're going through yet another re-org. Thankfully, this time with no job loss. I'm currently working on two teams. One temporarily until who knows when. Temp team wants to keep me (and quite honestly it makes more sense for me to be with that group) but office politics has gotten in the way of that. So for now, I'm with them until I'm not. Then it's back to my permanent team. So retarded but hey I still have a job.
  • This chick is still bamming folks. It brings me mucho joy.
  • Remember my BFF's knight in rusty armor? Guess what? He's back in jail for (practically) the exact same shit he did before. He had a wreck while drinking and driving in the car with their child......ag-gane. My words to her, "I love you and usually refrain from telling you (and others) how to live your life but don't let that nigga back in your house or your life." There was, undoubtedly, A LOT more to that convo but that statement pretty much summed up how I feel.
  • It really sucks because she has such a big heart and is WAY nicer than I can ever imagine being. That big heart sometimes gets in the way of her using good judgement. I fear that once he gets out (this summer), that she'll take him back.
  • Ummmmmm, what else?
  • Tornados watch\warnings\sirens=scary
  • Rain=peaceful until it ain't. (see above)
  • Beyond ready for vacation this summer.
  • Osama Bin Laden is dead.

A little bit of this, a little bit of that....................

  • I'm watching the Mariah Carey (aka Freaky D's future baby mama) Christmas special. The only thing I keep thinking is why must she insist on wearing those too short dresses. When I say her 'fits are barely grazing the surface..........
  • The j-o-b gave us a free half day this past Friday. Part of that time was lunch catered by the cafe (run by Ar.a.ma.rk) next door. It wasn't mandatory that we attend. I didn't. I haven't eaten there (or the food they prepare) since I received a not so pleasant lunch entree' and also confirmation that one of the cooks (who I already gave the side-eye to) was way past unsanitary. I'll pass on the nutsack sammies TYVM!
  • A co-worker and I opted to go eat at our favorite restaurant in the River Market The Flying Fish.
  • I had to take the car in for some work so she and another co-worker (that joined us after the our respective lunches) followed me to drop my car off and we went to the movies to see....get this. Burlesque. Bwahahahahahahahahaha It's definitely not the type of movie I would have chosen BUT we were looking to do something and one of us (not I) loves those types of films so there ya go. All in all, it wasn't that bad. Not the greatest movie but entertaining nonetheless.
  • I want to watch "The Nutcracker" really bad. Hopefully it will be on soon.
  • Mistah and I upgraded our cells this weekend. A BB Torch for me and a newer iPhone for him. I'm still trying to get used to the touchscreen. Thank goodness it has the qwerty keyboard for transitioning folk like me.
  • Wow, Mariah's mom has a beautiful voice. It sounds like she was classically trained in opera.
  • We are making the jump to AT&T U-Verse this weekend. Anyone know anything about their service? Should we call and cancel before they come to do the install? No really, should we? The main thing guiding our decision is that for the money we pay now, we will get TONS more stuff (in addition to what we already have) including TV One (which I only get to watch while I'm in Memphis) and bookoos of sports crap for Mistah. Oh and yes MrsTDJ, a DVR. LOL I think we are probably one of the few people in the country that has survived without one. I still don't think I'll use it much but hey only time will tell.
  • I'm black and I love cold weather!!! LOVE.IT! Well, except when it's really windy or when its so cold\icy the power goes out. Even I admit that sucks.
  • I also love Tabitha's (on Salon Takeover) haircut. It is most bad ass. Anyone watching? I know the format of the show is pretty much the same each week but her ability to rip assholes effectively is really impressive. Did you all see last week's episode with those folks living in that nasty, junky house? UGH! I don't see how she slept on that couch!!!
  • Who watched the Real Houseslores of ATL last night? Have you drawn up your friend contracts yet? I'm almost finished with my first batch.
  • Oh yeah, annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd there will be a Teen Mom 2. If the original Teen Mom ends, I hope they at least do a finale season. I need closure!!!
  • The token crazy bitch on my team has been identified and it only took her three weeks to show her true colors. Throwing temper tantrums and storming out of meetings does not a professional make and that's all I gotsta say about that.
  • I almost bought my first Christmas present this weekend. I was going to pick up a copy of 'Despicable Me' for the boys. I looked all over the electronics department for that DVD. Figuring it was sold out, I asked one of the cashiers....ya know just to confirm. The thing doesn't come out until Tuesday. *sigh*
  • If you've never seen Black Dynamite, please do yourself a favor and go rent or buy it. In the words of Barista, best.shit.ever.
  • Ummmm, what else? Nothing. I'm out.
And now for a musical selection.................................

A little bit of this....a little bit of that.........

  • I'm officially back at home. After being gone for almost two weeks straight, I can say that I don't like being away from my lovah that long. I hope to never have to be apart from him that long again BUT hey you have to do what you have to do. Unfortunately for him, Mama trumps schlong. Fortunately for us, he knows that and feels the same way.
  • I'm also back at work....physically anyway. My mind wasn't quite there. At least it was quiet at the plantation today.
  • We had an opportunity (via work) to go the AR Black Hall of Fame shindig this past weekend. With me being in Memphis (and finding out last minute), I had to decline as I didn't have time to go look for a dress and get my hair done. I heard from one of my co-workers it was really nice. Oh well, maybe next time...if there is a next time.
  • The weekend didn't vary much from the norm. We rented a few movies and did what lovers do. It's a wonder I'm not barefoot and pregnant. #allpraisestobirthcontrol
  • The state fair was here (it ended this past Sunday) but I wasn't interested in going. I think the only way I will be convinced to go again is if we kidnap someone's kid to take with us. LOL Don't get me wrong, I love a good turkey leg, corn dog and funnel cake (which is pretty much all I eat when I go) but I gets ty'red of shuckin' and jivin' around rowdy teen's just so I can walk.
  • My mama is doing really well. She got the all clear from the doctor last week to resume normal activities. She's doing just that (in moderation of course) but not before she dragged me to the furniture store to purchase some new furniture for the den. It was needed though. My grandma, rest her soul, would be happy to know that her leather-ish sofa, recliner chair, end and coffee table were well used even after she left us. :)
  • Funny story. While waiting for the doc to come in the room for her post-op check-up, I notice her pulling her pants down.
Me: Mama, what are you doing?
Mama: Pulling my pants down.
Me: Ummmmm, why?
Mama: He needs to be able to see the incision.
Me: Well um couldn't you just pull the elastic part of your pants down so just the incision shows when he comes in as opposed completely pulling down your pants?
Mama: Girl hush, he's already seen it. *pointing down yonder*
Me: *cracks up laughing* Well, alrighty then. Carry on.
  • My (and Southern Gal's) college alma mater's homecoming is in a couple of weeks. I think I'm going to skip the party(ies) this year. I just want to hang out and catch up at someone's house and throw back some dranks. I said the same thing last year and ended up going out. Go figure.
  • I wrote an entire post about a local Bishop stepping down because of an affair he had with a parishioner. Then, I deleted it. I didn't like what I wrote so I scrapped it. Jameil, was the only lucky one to read it (I think). Thanks for the comment lady. :) Now, I'm thinking I should have saved it because it wasn't that bad. Oh well.
  • Joan Rivers on Fashion Police......killer.
  • I'm ready for it to be like 40 to 50 degrees all day long so I can put on my tights. Don't taze me KRock!
  • And I think I'm ready for bed. Holla!

A little bit of this, a little bit of that..............

  • So I'm in Memphis....not quite bored to tears but I am ready to go home. What?! I didn't say this would be fun. Ah well, I must grin and bear it. :)
  • My FB peeps already know this but no fancy cable=no Bravo network=I missed the RHOA season premiere last night (and will miss any and everything else on Bravo that I want to watch this week....and next). *drops two tears in a bucket*
  • I've still got E! though so I can watch my beloved Chelsea Lately and Joan Rivers on Fashion Police. Both of those hags crack me up.
  • Speaking of, hookers start hookin' early around these here parts and apparently are quite ambitious too. I stopped to get gas yesterday and witnessed the most bold act (my eyes have ever seen) of entrepreneurial spirit ever. Can you say tip drill?
And now for a musical selection.......

A little bit of this, a little bit of that…………..

  • I've been having some weird dreams lately. Did I ever tell y'all about the one with Cochise driving a Camaro? Mistah got quite a laugh out of that one especially when I told him how he went from walking on all fours to his hind legs, walked to the car, got in and drove off. Burning rubber and all.
  • The Rickey Smiley morning show is now syndicated in our area. I'm still feeling it out to see if I like it but it's good to have another option. I can't stand the (only black) local morning show w/Broadway Joe *gags* but can deal with Tom Joyner.
  • They are doing paternity test day on the RSMS. The babies name is a combination of her mother (Erica) and maybe daddy (Andre), Ericandre. Yeah, let that marinate for a minute. Ericandre. They may as well have name the poor child Anaconda! Erica thinks Ericandre*snickers* may not be Andre's because they are both light skinded and the baby is dark skinded (that's what she said). I'm listening to the stream at work now so I can hear the results. LOL
  • Shaquan Duley said she wanted to be free. I just don't think that's going to happen now my dear. Then again, maybe she does feel freedom now. Poor babies....RIP.
  • Teen Mom.....lord have mercy I feel so sorry for baby Leah and Sophia. Leah's parents (Gary and Amber) are idiots and Sophia's mom (Farrah) doesn't have a damn clue.
  • Tyler and Catelynn have slowly but surely gotten on my nerves. Couples counseling at 17?!? Wanting your girlfriend\fiancee' to provide cell phone records to see how many times she's spoken with her ex-boyfriend from three years ago. Boo, she was 14!!!!! I'm so over them.
  • One of my friends said on FB last night that Maci's new boyfriend looks like a white gorilla. When provided with proof, I couldn't even argue with her.
And now for a musical selection..................

Update on the update and other shenanigans.........

Sooooooooo, I still haven't decided what kind of car I want (thanks for all your suggestions). I don't think I will truly start narrowing down my imaginary list until I get the check. Speaking of, turns out I don't own a dime on the car and got money back. The lien folks said it was because of finance charges and the warranty I purchased. They don't disclose this information unless your car is totaled. Ain't that a blip?! At any rate, I'm not complaining. I'm rejoicing!

I ended up having to go to the doc for back and neck pain. It's nothing major. The human body is amazing....that's all I know.

Mom, drove in Saturday for me to take her to the airport. She'll return with the boys Saturday and they'll head back to Memphis. Even if I haven't purchased a car by the time they are scheduled to come down getting a rental won't be a big deal now. YAY!

Ummmmmmmm, let's see what else. My boss's last day is this Friday. Ya'll already that but I felt it needed repeating. LOL

I didn't get the other job. No worries. Did I tell ya'll I was sitting up in that interview sweating like a banshee??!! LOL

What else? Nothing. That's it.

A little bit of this, a little bit of that…………..

  • I still haven’t packed yet. Mistah on the other hand is all done with the exception of a few items.
  • We leave Saturday.
  • I’m trying to avoid checking my bag.
  • Mistah was trying to take a hat and shorts for everyday of the week. o_0.
  • Pair that ish down fool! Reduce, reuse and recycle!
  • My cubicle neighbor (ie Sh'Nike) sent an email asking if I had an IM address through yahoo, google, etc that I could share with her.
  • Bwahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
  • We sit right next to each other. Anything we need to communicate can be done face to face or via the company provided Outlook email accounts we have been assigned.
  • I have yet to respond to her request and doubt if I will.
  • I applied for another job internally this morning. It’s more in line with my previous work experience and completely separate from this team and business unit.
  • I’m so burnt out on the village idiots entire group and am bored to death with my current position.
  • I do hope I get it. I’m completely ready.
  • Lord if you’re listening, you know I mean this.
  • People are trying to convince me to throw a party for my nephew on his birthday while he’s in town.
  • Ummmmmmmmm, no. His parents can handle that for him when he gets back home.
  • No worries, I’m not a total hard heart! He will get cake, ice cream and have tons of fun that day.
  • I had to come back to add on a couple of observations I made within the last hour.
  • How do people jog in the middle of the day when it's 90+ degrees outside and humid?
  • Better yet WHY do people do this?
  • I just witnessed someone walk past my desk with a long sleeve turtleneck on.
  • Did I mention it's 90+ degrees outside?

FUN FACT

I was saddened to learn about Dixie Carter's (aka Julia Sugarbaker from the show 'Designing Women') passing the weekend before last. I really loved that show and her character. Honestly, I loved everyone ....especially Bernice. She kept me in stiches! Black Maaaaaaaaan, Black Maaaaaaaan! LMAO

In reading the paper this past weekend, I learned something new and fun. One of the writers did a tribute article of sorts about Dixie and her favorite episodes, scenes, etc. Imagine my surprise when I read that the house (where the design firm was) featured on the show is actually a snapshot of the Villa Marre right here in Little Rock. WHO KNEW? Not me. At any rate, I think it's pretty cool.

Here's a link that details a bit more about the history of the house. I think I shall do a drive-by at lunch and take a looksie.

A Little Bit of this, a little bit of that……

•I have two water blisters on the bone on the back of my ankles and it is killing everything in me not to pop those sap suckas! The culprit? A pair of swooshes (aka Ni-Ke) training shoes I scooped up from Sports Academy on clearance this weekend.

Trying to be Being cute will kill ya. If you ain't know, you better ask somebody...BA-BAAAAY!!

•Guess I’ll go back to my walking shoes and stick to using the new kicks for their intended purpose of training instead walking up and down the boulevard with the pooches.

•I’ll test them out on the new Bowflex we got this weekend. Mistah is so excited. Ya’ll should see him working on his fitness. It’s cute. Lol

•I told him he should take some music in the room to help him stay motivated because he’ll get bored just listening to the sounds of the machine and ceiling fan after awhile. ‘Nah, I’ll be alright’, he says. What did I hear playing yesterday afternoon though? Mmmmmmhmmmm, he ain’t stupid…..at least not all the time.

•My sisters and I received another ‘love’ email from our mother. Just in case you haven’t been reading that long, that’s code for ‘going off’. I won’t go into detail but just know that I was designated as the peacemaker and all is well.

•She fussed talked for two hours skraight. I think I got in 50 words MAX! I was so drained and hongray after that convo. *smh and laughing*

•Sometimes I really hate that she has access to a ‘puter. LOL

•My sisters and I are soooo different. The eldest is the worrier/nurturing type, the middle is the ABW (angry black woman) and me (the baby) well I just don’t give a damn half of the time. I’m the black sheep son!

•I still haven't done my state taxes. Correction, they are done, I just haven't mailed them in. I need to put them in the car to drop off in the morning so I don't forget.

•Anyone catch the ‘Army Wives’ premiere last night? It was pretty decent. I sure hope Joan doesn’t lose her eyesight. I doubt she will thought. Lifetime won't do that.

•I’m sooooo ready for the RHONY reunion show. Just skip all the other stuff and let’s get to it!

•I wonder when the reunion show for ’16 & Pregnant’ will be? Wasn’t the episode last week the last one of the season?

•I really need to start taking the digi-cam to the local Wal-marts ‘cause honey, I saw some mess in there yesterday that would have made ya weep!

•Babs had a post about cheating and what not on her blog the other day. One of the things she listed as cheating was having dinner with someone of the opposite sex and keeping it from your mate. This stood out to me because I go out to lunch with an ex of mine every so often. We dated for a few brief months before I went off to college when I was 17 but it’s nothing I would deem a real relationship. At that age, all I knew was that I stayed horny was getting away from home and would finally get a chance to live the carefree life that God intended me to have....oh and get an education. That’s not the point though but just stating that for clarification. Anyway, I’ve never thought anything of it (or saying something) because (1)I usually go out to eat with someone each Friday or just hang by myself and (2) I don't 'report back' on any of the outings. Anyway, when I do have lunch dates the conversation is usually the same thing, we dish about work and life in general…just catch up.

•Oh and just to clarify something else, this is NOT the dude I posted about the other day. LOL

•At any rate, Mistah knows he and I are friends, I don't think I am cheating (in thought or in action)so I just leave it at that. *Kanye shrug*

And now for a musical selection........

A little bit of this, a little bit of that………….

A chronicle of some of the thoughts that popped in my head Tuesday February 2, 2010
  • I really like sunflower seeds…..the kind you have to crack and spit…..and especially flavored ones like ranch and bbq. Flavored ones are really hard to find. I’ve been eating them non-stop for almost two weeks.
  • I’m truly tired of people making excuses at work. You’ve known about this final report for well over a year, we’ve done several interim reports in between, requested an extension for the final and you want me to go back to these folks and ask for another just because YOU don’t have your portion complete. Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeiiiid…….. How’s that saying go? Your failure to plan does not equate an emergency on my part. Beesh betta have my report!! Holla!
  • My actual reply was much less harsh but very direct.
  • Grandmama always said that you will sometimes have to smile even when you don’t want to. She was so smart.
  • The internet is my sanity during work hours.
  • I gave myself a mild heart attack last night while doing my taxes. I selected the incorrect option when entering some of my information causing my taxes to appear significantly less that what it normally is. I retraced my steps and found the error. It’s great never to owe anything but the difference would have been a tough pill to swallow.
  • I need to look over my state filing one last time to make sure I didn’t goof anything up on in it before I send it in.
  • Do ya’ll file your state taxes online or mail it in? I mail them in. I learned my lesson after being charged $30 and only receiving like $60 back one year. FAIL.
  • I don’t have anything that I need to use the refund for. I’m almost tempted to go buy one of those Wii’s but the responsible part of me just says put it all in the bank.
  • I can’t wait for the Teen Mom reunion show tonight. It will probably be much less drama filled as I am expecting.
  • I read that Farrah’s mom was arrested for beating up on her. LMAO That girl has been asking to be mollywhopped upside the head for a loooooooooooong time.
  • Dammit!!! I forgot to take my BC pill and vitamin this morning. Good thing we didn’t bump uglies this morning.
  • I want some hot chocolate but my bladder is still full from all the hot lemon water and milk I drank earlier.
  • Forget that! I’m still getting some. I’ll just be on the pot all day today.
  • Why are you braking BEFORE you merge to get off on the exit???????? And why are you looking at me crazy because you don’t know how to drive? She better be glad I couldn’t get to any of my pennies from heaven to throw at her.
  • Ok AR Gal, you are only picking up moisturizer…you hear that????
  • That didn’t last long. I just had to have them. The color is much richer in person.
  • Sorry Nerd Girl, I failed the ‘no spending in February’ test. I’m gonna do better the rest of the month. :D
  • Time to eat, I’s hongray!
  • Why do people schedule meetings for several hours? Boo Hiss!

A little bit of this, a little bit of that................

  • Happy New Year!!
  • I'm currently in a mild state of depression about having to go back to work tomorrow. Having been off for almost two and half straight weeks will do that to ya.
  • I have enjoyed this time off like no other. Rest and relaxation are the best!
  • I finally broke down and purchased a vacuum this weekend. I liked the reviews and the specs. So far so good. Of course it is brand new so we'll see how well it does after about 6 months or so. I'm just glad I no longer have to do extra work to clean the area rug in the den. Vacuuming is now a joy not a chore.
  • Yeah right! LMAO
  • While in STL, I got a chance to try out the restaurant Chipotle. I always hear such good things about the place that I told my sister that I just had to have some before I left. Let me just tell you, they had me at burrito bowl. The food was delicious! I think I now know my purpose in life. Campaign for a Chipotle in the Little Rock area.
  • Too bad I wasn't the lucky SOB in Mayflower (AR) that has the winning 25 million dollar lotto ticket. I would open my own chain.......or make random trips to places that have Chipotle locations. LOL
  • During this downtime, I've been catching up on Season 1 of 'True Blood'.
  • I heart Lafayette!
  • I also saw a few movies online including 'Precious' and 'Brothers'.
  • I laughed at parts that weren't necessarily supposed to be funny watching 'Precious'. Specifically when Precious' mother chased her up the stairs after she kicked the house shoe back down the stairs at her. While I'm being honest, the movie didn't really leave me feeling depressed or down like others have commented in other reviews. It was just another movie to me, granted well acted, but just another movie.
  • 'Brothers' was okay. It got a bit slow at times so I was thankful to be able to fast forward through those scenes.
  • Z and I actually took in a movie at the theater. We went to see 'Avatar'. I don't feel like doing a review so I will say just go see it. It's great! We didn't do the 3D version though. Still contemplating it just for the experience.
  • We took the Christmas decorations down New Year's day after coming back from Sam's Club only to discover they were closed. All we could do was laugh after wasting time driving up to North Little Rock. We really thought they would be open though. Womp womp.
  • They really need to open one up where we live.
  • I made fried cabbage after taking down the decorations. It was a recipe from my paternal grandmother. I'm not a big cabbage person (unless it's in coleslaw) but my sister made some when I was in STL. It smelled so good that I just had to try it. It was delish and so was my batch. :D
  • My mother and I had a rather recent unpleasant conversation. Long story short, she sent me one of her notorious emails (these are emails she composes and sends to me or one of my sisters after she gets really pissed about something) after a conversation she had with one of my sisters. The topic? When I had taken off from work. She says I told her one thing and my sister another. I was therefore deemed dishonest and was called a liar.......via email.....over days I took off work from my job. *blank stare*
  • I told them both the same thing. People forget and/or get facts confused but not once did that ever dawn on her. As I told her, if I am going to lie about something it would be about oh saaaaaaaaay robbing a bank or cheating the IRS. LOL
  • In any event, all the facts have been sorted out (not that there was anything to actually sort) but I was truly offended and I told her as much. Now she's pissed because she feels like I put her in the middle of something. *rolls eyes* Please note that she put herself in the middle of a nonexistent situation and that she still doesn't get 'it'.
  • I love that woman but she can drive me absolutely bat.shit.crazy.
  • I called her Friday to wish her a Happy New Year. :)
  • Anyhoo, it's really cold here as I'm sure it is over 80% of the country. We had the faintest of snow flurries earlier today. I'm hoping for some inclement weather overnight so I can stretch this vacay out one more day.
  • Fingers crossed.
UPDATE: Soooooo, I got my wish. No work for me today! YAY!! I only wish I had found out before I got up out of my warm cozy bed, took a shower, and got dressed. LOL Oh well. I'm just glad it doesn't take much snow on the ground to shut stuff down around here.

I'm..................

  • ..................on week 1 of my two day work week extravaganza. Next week, it's just another Monday and Tuesday then I'm gone until the beginning of the year. YES!!
  • ..................sitting at home on my couch watching 'Maury'.
  • ..................wondering if this lady on the show has a glass eye. It looks peculiar.
  • ..................not packing my suitcase to leave town tomorrow like I should be.
  • ..................now wondering what I should pack. It shouldn't take too long to figure out. It's not like we will be going to the club. T-shirts and jeans should do the trick.
  • ..................actually excited to see the kids and my sister. Not in a 'We're going to Disney World' sort of way but I'm ready to see them. My brother-in-law.....not so much.
  • ..................often wonder why she chose him as her husband. He's an idiot....and ugly....like Dwayne Wayne but worse. I don't have to sleep with him though so whatev. LOL
  • .................going to do better about volunteering my time in 2010. I've fallen off in a BIG way.
  • .................debating when we should go up to Memphis. My sisters kids (the ones in Memphis not to be confused with the other kids I'm going to see tomorrow in STL) leave to go to their fathers house the day after Christmas so time is limited IF I want to get them their presents before the 25th. If not, I can always just leave them with their mom or drive to Pine Bluff to give them their stuff afterward. I hate PB. It stinks there. No it really stinks like Pepe LePew.
  • ...............sure I'll figure it out at the last minute.
  • ...............also debating if I should take my laptop or not. I'm leaning more towards not. I've still got my cell (and my sisters laptop) if I want to surf the web. :D
  • ................hoping I don't forget to take the camera tomorrow. I guess that why I should be packing. I need to make a list because I already know I will forget something. Here's hoping it's not some draws.
  • ................done Christmas shopping with exception of a gift for my mom and the kids up north. Guess that means I'm not really done.
  • ...............actually really good at shopping for gifts for others. I just don't particularly like doing it.
  • ...............still a little salty about the gift I initially received at our Dirty Santa function at work the other day. I purchased a couple of cute wrap scarves (only $8 for two) to gift. After it was all said and done I walked away with some homemade jelly. Ummmmm, that's nice and all but I only eat apple jelly (and SOMETIMES grape if I have to). I traded with someone (after the function) that actually likes the jelly and received the travel mug she won.
  • .................going Dollar Tree on their asses next year for a gift. Fool me once........
  • .................about to get off of here for a little while. I just remembered an errand I need to run.

A little bit of this…a little bit of that

  • I’m ready for this holiday break as I’m sure most of the nation is. Well unless you have to work in retail on Black Friday.
  • They should just do like I used to if I was on the schedule and call in sick.
  • We are going to see Bruce Bruce this weekend. I was torn because Sommore will be in the Rock the following weekend. To decide, I listened to both of them on YouTube. I laughed at Bruce Bruce more. Plus Lavelle Crawford will be with him. Dude is HILARIOUS!!
  • Z’s preference was Bruce Bruce. He says Sommore is too vulgar. Oh really Mr. Potty Mouth? Lol It is what it is dude.
  • I wish Katt Williams would do another tour. I don’t care what anyone says, I love his press-n-curl midget-like behind.
  • Jennifer Lopez’s new song is stupid. But not as stupid as that dance move she tried the other night. WTF were you thinking hey hoe?!
  • I have to reconfigure our holiday travel plan during Christmas. I thought my mother would still be in STL with my sister. Turns out she’s leaving a couple weeks before and going back to Memphis. This throws a total wrench in my ‘kill two birds with one stone’ plan.
  • Speaking of my mother, she’s got her dictator cap on telling folks (ie my sister and her husband) that they need to go ahead and get tubes tied, a vasectomy, whatever so that they don’t have anymore kids……in their house no less. And ain’t nobody asked her nothing! *gives my mama the side-eye supreme*
  • In her opinion, they are too old to have anymore. I told her last night that she was WAY out of line for saying something like that. She got pissed. Whatever. I love her but she is TOTAL control freak.
  • She needs a man or a hobby.
  • I wasn’t going to make any dressing for Thanksgiving since it will be just the two of us but I’m craving it now. I shall be making a trip to the store to pick up the remaining ingredients I need (which I think is just celery).
  • I need to thaw out my turkey leg for the greens tonight. Considering I couldn’t stand greens as a kid, mine taste pretty damn good.
  • I’ve got a couple of better pictures of Ryan. The hospital has some sort of contract with this B.e.l..la B..a..b..y place that comes in to take portraits. They are really cute and different from the normal hospital photos you get but those sh!ts are expensive! I saved the page to get the pictures. Anyone have photoshop to get those words out of the way?

A little bit of this...a little bit of that

  • Cochise decided to fuck shit up spice up our lives and take apart one set of his stitches leaving a gaping hole on his booty. *insert huge sigh and eyeroll* I told Z next time we won't have to worry about trying to scramble to the vet's office because baby boy and I will have an appointment with the Swingline.
  • He now has one of those e-collars around his neck to keep him from getting back there. Here's hoping it works *fingers crossed*
  • I truly could work from home everyday....or least 3 out of 5 days of the week. It creates a more peaceful less stressful work environment IMHO.
  • They are giving out free flu shots at work. I don't want one. I haven't had one since I was a kid and have had no major problems. I'm not about to start now.
  • Definitely don't want the H1N1 shot. I promise I think that stuff will have folks walking like folks in "The Dawn of the Dead" (google it).
  • WTF is this 'Street Court' show? Now I'm a fan of reality court shows through and through but that is some bootleg mess if I've ever seen it. I don't believe court cases being handled on patio decks in peoples backyards and in front of churches is what the justice system is supposed to be about? Or is it...........either way that show is still stupid.
  • I saw a bat sleeping on the wall outside of PetSmart. I took a picture with my cellphone but you really can't see much. I didn't want to get to close in case it decided to wake up and swoop in on my eyes or something.
  • People really love my freakin' dog. He's so friendly that folks always want to come over and pet him.
  • I made this last night. It was pretty tasty and perfect for the cooler weather we've been experiencing.
  • I'm trying to keep up the trend of trying one new recipe/week. So far I'm on week two. I'm notorious for not sticking with stuff though so we'll see how long this last.
  • Last week I used this recipe (both of them) from Barista. It was soooooooooooo good!
  • I'm ready for the weekend. We are going to the Maxwell concert. Chrisette Michelle and Common are opening. I like her music but I don't much about Common's work outside of collabo's he's done with other artist. I hope I like it.
  • I got my 'Race for the Cure' shirt in the mail yesterday. I don't think I'll be walking but I may take the pups to watch. I've never just sat and observed the experience. Observing may be best since I can no longer be in direct sunlight for long periods of time. Hmmmmmmmmm......
  • After listening to a lady speak about lupus on a talk radio show I listen to, I'm pretty much convinced that I've had it for at least the past year (or longer). The things she described like back pain (like muscle spasms but worse) and knee inflammations are symptoms I experienced a lot of last year. The back pain was the worst! Sitting down at work was sometimes damn near unbearable but the doc just chalked it up to a muscle spasm and gave me some of that good good. It worked and that was that. Now I sit and wonder just how long has this silent life changer has been roaming around in this vessel I call my body.
  • We were going to the state fair Friday night as we do each year when it begins but it looks like rain is on the horizon. Oh well, there's always next weekend I suppose.
  • I'm tired. I've been going non-stop since five a.m. It's time for me to lay it down.
  • We'll holla.........................

Not much of this, not much of that

  • I had a plethora of random stuff on my brain this morning. Now? I couldn’t tell you any of what I had to post about to save my life.
  • That’s the story of my life. You’d think I have ‘mom brain’ the way I forget shit.
  • I’m sitting at my desk tapping my fingers on the keyboard. This is sad yo!
  • I’ll try this again later.
  • Wait, I just remembered something.
  • Watch Oprah tomorrow. The place that issues my paycheck will be featured on the show.
  • Wait, something else. I just received an email from Tarjay telling me that my boots have been shipped! Hollaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!! I love that place!!
  • After this, I'm done shopping for myself for awhile unless I see a sale on a good bra. You never can have too many of those!!
  • And I’m gone!

Me either!

That's what I said when I viewed this secret on PostSecret (one of my most favoritist blogs!) If you're not in the know about it, it's over there >>>>>>>>>>>>> in my newly updated blogroll.

With the lotto FINALLY coming to AR at the end of this month (can I get an Amen?!), I'm one step closer to my plan of financial freedom. I've got my bills crisp and ready to hand over to any random gas station attendant so when they ask, where dem dollas at?, I can say RIGHT HERE!

One thing I've always said is if, NO WHEN (I must speak it into existence) I win I will request to remain anonymous. No need to have long lost cousins coming of the woodwork. Ya'll see how my g-aunts did their own sister so just imagine what their offspring would do. VICIOUS! Once the money is deposited into my bank account, I will chunk the deuces to my place of employment and make my way to my couch EXPEDITIOUSLY so that I can figure out the next move. I figure I'll set the kids in the family up nicely for college and what not, buy my mom a place outside of Memphis, give my sisters a lil' coin change to spend at the mall and of hook mistah up real nice.

What about you all? Would you want the world to know 'I'm rech beyatch!!' or would you keep it under wraps? What major purchases would you make? Would you give any to the fam?

For some strange reason, I'm getting the vibe that I've done a post similar to this before. Stranger things have happened so just humor me, k? Thanks.

A little bit of this, a little bit of that

My b-day weekend was fun!

Hung out with the girls Saturday… No one remembered to bring a camera. Oh well

The jury is still out on me and sushi. One kind I liked and the other was just well….nasty.

Ladynay, they didn’t have the brown rice sushi roll you recommended. :(

I’ll probably give it another go sometime in the (distant) future.

We then went down to another spot so we could, as my friend put it ‘really eat’. LMAO

FYI for anyone in the central AR area. The caribbean jerk and whiskey honey wings at Big Whiskey’s in the River Market are soooooooooooooooooo good!!!!

I got lots of calls on my b-day, cards, and cash (the people that love me really know my heart).

I got a new laptop for my b-day compliments of me and Z! He went half on an e-baby with me…awwwwwwwwwwwwww!

I didn’t get my cupcakes….boooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!

I did however get an all chocolate cake…yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!!!! We didn't eat it all. I brought the rest to work so these leeches could take care of that.

He said he couldn’t find any specifically how I requested. All chocolate (icing and all).

Translation: he waited until the last damn minute to try and get some.

We went out to eat and came home to chill out for the rest of the day.

Family reunion (on my dad’s side) is this weekend.

I haven’t seen most of these people in years (haven't met some of them at all) and honestly wouldn’t know them if I did.

I have vague memories of the last reunion I went to when I was about 6 or 7. It was in the country in MS somewhere. I think I had fun. Lol I was little so I’m sure I probably did.

I really don’t have any expectation other than getting to know the other side of my family a bit better. The only people we truly associated with are all dead now with the exception of my grandmother’s remaining living sister who now lives in TX with her kids.

I need to make sure I have something to sit under during the picnic. Side effect of lupus = little or no sunlight exposure. I feel like a vampire. They should cast me on ‘True Blood’.

I bet my mama is going to try and get me to take her down to the casino. I just may take her up on it. I’ll take my winnings in cash, no check please and thank you!

I’m sure I’ll be ready to go after a couple of hours. That’s about how long it usually takes my attention and $20 I take to dwindle down. WHAT? I am not going to hand over my all my hard earned money all willy nilly to those folks! If I win $50, I’m doing it big!!

I took yesterday and Friday off this week. 3 day work week beeshes!!!!

If only they could all be like that.

I made chicken alfredo last night and threw in some homemade pico de gallo that was gifted. OMG, it was soooooooooooo good!!!

I think I may just have to swallow my words and get a FB account. I KNOW!! Shocker!!! I do believe my mama has one and that just ain’t kosher to have her out doing me! I’ll let ya’ll know if I decide to take a walk on the wild side.

I still can't believe iniquitous 1 (aka Nikki Indigo) has passed away. Thoughts of her and her work have lingered on my mind since reading the news. I was mainly a lurker on her blog but the power of her words always left an impression with me.

Ok, this post has suddenly become too damn long. What the hell is going on with ya’ll?

A little bit of this, a little bit of that......

The fam is gone...finally! lol I love 'em like a fat kids love cake but I'd be lying if I said they didn't work my nerves.

I love peace and QUIET!!

4 year olds that throw temper tantrums are not cute.

5 year olds with smart ass mouths are even less cute.

He almost got thrown off the roof.

5 year olds can cuss too. Who knew? Probably his mama and daddy. lol

What the hell??? Those were his exact words by the way.

When I questioned what he said his response = Ummmmmmmmmmmm, oooops.

Auntie AR Gal will test that butt if you get out of line. This time I only administered a strong side eye and a good tongue lashing.

I need to ask his mama if she knows he's got a potty mouth. lol

My mother still drives me nuts!

I think it drives her crazy that she can't tell me what to do anymore.

She still drops hints though. lol

We did actually have fun while they were here. The boys LOVED riding go carts, this place called JumpZone (it's basically a warehouse with those huge inflatable things that kids can jump around in/slide down, etc), and the dogs.

Speaking of inflatable stuff. I found this this while surfing. Those damn others come up with some of the most peculiar stuff sometimes. lol

I wish I had another 2 day work week this week.

Oh well, I've got a few long weekends coming my way shortly.

My b-day is at the end of this month. I have no idea what I'm doing. There's usually some event like a concert or comedy show (since my b-day is so close to Labor day)but this year...nada. Booooooooooooooooo

Now I/we am rethinking moving. I came upon an area this weekend web surfing in North Little Rock that I never knew existed that would actually be great for us. The homes and neighborhood are comparable to where we are now and the commute would be much shorter of course. Now if I could just find a house......*puts on thinking cap*

I entered a contest to win tickets to the Cowboys-v-Titans game this Friday. It's the first game for the Cowboys in their new stadium. Now I am by no means a sports fan (at all) but my honey LOOOOOOOOOVES the Titans so I figured why not if we can score some tickets and make a weekend out of it.

Didn't win...boo.

I guess we're going to try to go to Nashville for a game this season. That would actually be great. I'd get to see my bestie!

Telling your wife/SO/lady friend/etc that she is irresistible is a sure fire panty dropper....well for me anyway.

I finally found the perfect pair of black shades today at Kohl's. I had been searching eh-ver-ree-where and couldn't seem to find a pair that fit my style. I'm not a big fan of CZ's in shades (well at least not the amount that I seemed to find at the places I looked at) or too much of a gold or silver accent. They are plain black with big & round lenses. Now I can finally throw the old ones I've had with the severely cracked lens away. lol

Z and I went grocery shopping yesterday like we normally do each Sunday. We totally forgot that this was the weekend that freshman arrived in town at my alma mater. OMG!!! There were like a gajillion people in the freakin store!! I was sooooooooo hot and sweaty like I had a fever. So not a good look when you are eye balling produce.

*watching a commercial with Simmons girls* (aka Rev Run's kids) Angela gets a bad rap (as far as looks go) but she is not an ugly girl to me (especially considering she looks just like her papi).

I plan on going to Sephora this week. I want to pick up a few products from the Rx for Brown Skin line.

A DSW just opened in Little Rock. Tell me why it is allllllllllllllllllllll the way on the other end of town(ie in the really really rich folks neighborhood)? lol I'm sure that is not stopping a lot of people though. Have shoes...will travel. I'll get out there eventually I just need to make sure I have lots of time....and all my bills paid prior to entry. lol

I'm about to watch Nurse Jackie...signing off.

Giving you what I got....musically
