RHOA Finale Recap.........................

Head on over to Kelly's spot to get your recap fix!!! I have so many thoughts about last night's finale but I don't have time to type it out. *shakes fist at the man and his demands* I will say I had THE best time reading posts on FB while watching. Speaking of a good time......why did Mistah watch the finale with me. Actually, he watched damn near the entire marathon yesterday. And yes, it was only because there were no NFL games on yesterday.

Me: It's okay baby, you can go ahead and admit it. You're addicted.

Mistah: I wouldn't say that.....they just make it so interesting that I can't stop watching.

Me: Oh okay but you do know that's just another way of saying that you're addicted right.

Mistah: I'm not addicted.

Me: Oh okay.

CTHU!!!! He just wouldn't admit it. I think he got kinda mad because I wouldn't stop laughing at him. To be fair, I was laughing at him AAAAAAAANNNND the show.

I swear dude had me in stitches during the entire finale but the joke he cracked about Peter's mama??!! He said she looked like she just rose from the dead like a zombie in the Thriller video.

But really though.....where were her teefus?

Ok, let me get back to work. Well first I need to visit the ladies to see why my chest is tingling. I hope it's not my lactating breasts otherwise I've got a whole 'nother set of problems.

Holla!

I'm in lurve!

I was so nervous about the install, specifically the service person's ability to show up on time....if at all. You guys know the deal especially when given the dreaded appointment slot time frame. Well ours was from 9-11 am and I'm happy to report he made it here right before ten. So far, we are thoroughly impressed with what U-Verse has to offer. The service has so many wonderful, wonderful, WONDERFUL features! Wanna know what I'm most excited about? The health and fitness on demand option. I'll never have to buy another fitness DVD ever again!!

Freaky, Barista and Southern were correct, it's great! Needless to say, I highly recommend it as well. If you ain't got it.....GET IT!!!!

And now for a musical selection...........................

I know I'm probably late...........

as some of you have probably either heard or seen of this show before but Scare Tactics on the SyFy network is the best thing since sliced bread. Mistah and I sat and watched three plus mindless hours of it. I kept delaying my need for a shower and he even skipped Monday Night Football because it was just that funny. I will have to make a mental note to watch this next week because it's a keeper!

Here's a clip of one of the jokes played-one of the best ones in my opinion.

This one's on my list...............

to see next year. I'm usually not a fan of paying to see chick flicks. Most of the plots are too cutesy and predictable for my taste. More times than not, when I watch them online I usually find myself hitting the FF button or just stop watching altogether. Unless it's really funny. In case you all have never figured it out, the key to AR Gal's heart is laughter. Lots and lots and lots of laughter! For whatever reason, the trailer for this movie struck a chord with me. I think it has more to do with the cast than anything else (and it looks funny) so I will go with my first mind and plan to check it out. Lord willing.

Reality TV: Teen Mom (Season Finale)

Blogged this as I watched the finale tonight.
  • I'm excited to see Carly. I hope she doesn't have a fivehead like her birth mother and grandmother.
  • Is Amber really allowing to this dude (an alleged child molester) to meet her daughter after only dating him a couple of weeks? Girl BYE!
  • Ummmmm, Gary's friend, didn't ya boy meet his gf @ the Walmarts? STFU
  • Gary, please stop wearing size xtra smedium t-shirts. Please and thank you.
  • Damn, Macy has a big forehead too. *goes to the mirror to check mine*
  • Hmmmm, giving a major side eye to Farrah's potential boo. Low v-neck t-shirt, hair stylist.........I'll wait until they go out on a date to see if my geighdar fully registers.
  • Tyler, what does Carly turning one and your dad being in jail have to do with one another? #boystopreaching
  • And now Amber is letting him stay with her huh? Not surprised. She's so misguided. I secretly hope he wrecks the car and\or steals it and doesn't come back. Is that wrong? Eh, I don't really care.
  • Maci's dad's facial expression after she told her parents that she and Kyle broke up....PRICELESS.
  • How is Maci paying for an apartment if she has no job? Parents, MTV or both? Hmmm.....
  • Damn she (Maci) dyed her hair. What is up with this reality TV Ronald McDonald red hair? Kandi, Maci...who's next?
  • Yeah, he's gay. I wonder if he knows it yet.
  • Damn, baby's got the fivehead but she looks just like Tyler otherwise. She's a cutie.
  • No Chester Chester didn't try and talk to dude about his kid!!!
  • Really sweet watching Catelynn and Tyler hold Carly.
  • Farrah you're getting cheap rent (on a huge house) and free babysitting and want to fuss about some damn paint and a rental application (which you would be expected to fill out with anyone else)??!! Deborah kick her ungrateful ass out!!
  • Hmmmm, does Ryan really want the extra time to be with Bentley or just to hurt Maci?
  • Amber, if you were that concerned with your child why didn't you just take her home with you? Nevermind, I'm glad you didn't. No need to have extra time with a molester.
  • Is the show two hours tonight? I may not make it all the way through! LOL
  • Farrah's mom need a face lift.
  • Watching Farrah cry is painful....and not in the 'it hurts me to see her hurt' kind of way.
  • What the hell kind of dead animal is that nailed up on the wall of Farrah's apartment??? LOL
  • Well, I think it's pretty obvious that Amber and Chester Chester have done the do.
  • Bwahahahahahahahaha, she got smashed by the door. I'm sorry but that tickled my pickle.
  • So did Amber and Gary make up or what? She seriously needs to consider wearing water proof mascara.
  • Yeah Maci, we (women) all know he was lying too.
I don't know about y'all but I thought the finale would never come. Not that I'm complaining but it just seems like this season went on foreveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeer. Now, who's ready for the reunion show and 16 & Pregnant?!

Reality TV: Sister Wives

Sister Wives, a reality show(on TLC) about a polygamist family, premiered last night. Plural marriage has always fascinated me but doesn't mean I'm into man sharing. One trick pony over here kids! I watch 'Big Love' religiously (can't wait for 1/2011) so I knew that I'd be tuning in to learn more about how it works in the real world. For those of you that watch 'Big Love' did you find yourself trying to compare the wives to Barb, Nikki and Margene? I did. LOL

You can learn more about the family here because I refuse to type all that shnit out. The one not mentioned in the link is Robin (the brunette on the far right). They are currently engaged to be married but on the show the relationship has just been introduced. She comes to the family previously married with three kids. One thing that intially threw me for a loop was that wife #2 (Janelle) had a 15 year old yet wife #1's (Meri) child was 14. It was later explained that the children were not born in the marriage(s) *shrugs shoulders* until after wife #3 (Christine) was brought on board.

There was admitted jealousy and difficulty in having to divvy up the time with Kody(who I instantly nicknamed HOH, that's head of household for all you non Big Brother watchers). There was also honesty in admitting a sense of relief that there were two other women there to pick up the slack should something happen (like the death of another mother) or just because one of them wanted to go to do something on their own. Instant babysitting! Hell with 13 kids, I can't blame them. I bet Michelle Duggar wishes she had a stand in. Then again, she's got enough kids to start her own babysitters club.

First impression, these folks seem really normal they just happen to be living a not so normal family life.

Random thought: It sure would be nice if I could do this for a living. Hmmmmmmmmm...........

TEEN MOM...........

Amber
  • The next time she kicks Gary out, he should just go and sit on the porch until she changes her mind.
  • They are so damn in love with being dysfunctional that it's comical at this point.
  • With that being said, I can't wait to see her mollywhop him upside the head next week. What?
  • Poor baby Leah

Farrah
  • This chick should be the poster child for the 'Spare the Rod, Spoil the Child' movement. Like seriously.
  • How many folks think she wants to use the money for her and not just the baby?
  • Why didn't she put the boys name on the birth certificate????!!!!
  • As so eloquently stated by Babs, " I really like that attorney. I appreciate his tell it like it is style."
  • I wish her attorney and shrink could get her in a locked room to really shake some sense into her. Talk about a reality check. I would pay GOOD MONEY to be a fly on that wall.
  • Someone told me that she didn't even tell the boy she was pregnant. He had to find out about it through the grapevine. Don't know how true that is but it wouldn't shock me. That's typical Farrah dumbassedness behavior.

Catelynn and Tyler
  • Is it insensitive of me to think they are dwelling on the adoption way too much? Like EVERY thing is about the baby they gave up. Oh and Butch being back in jail and\or rehab(which I've figured out is just really always been code for jail) I mean come on, don't they ever talk about anything else like I dunno.......homework?
  • Probably not as evidenced by those C's and D's Catelynn has on her report card.
  • I didn't realize Catelynn's mother's (aka METHod Mom) forehead was so damn big. It looks like an enlarged gourd.

Maci
  • I'm drawing blanks. I really don't remember much about her story last night other than her actually moving to Nashville to be with Magilla.
  • I guess it's a good thing the aftershow is all about Maci

From the Mouths of Babes...............

Willow Smith (daughter of filthy rich Will and Jada Smith) has released a new song titled "Whip My Hair". Have y'all heard it? If not, take a listen. I promise you'll be whippin' your hair back and forth. Then again, maybe you won't but if you do I just hope you don't get dizzy like I did. #coordinationfail

This comment on The Fury blog pretty summed up my feelings pretty well:

THE FUCKERY DOESN’T STOP!
This is my new jam… I don’t need Ciara, Rihanna, Keri or no one else… I WHIP MY HAIR BACK AND FORTH BITCH!

This song just may make it to the mp3 player if I listen to it enough. Now whip it!

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!

TRACY MORGAN

+

LAVELL CRAWFORD

=

FUN FUN FUN!!!!!!

Mistah and I are going to check these talented comedians out at the end of May. I heard the announcement on one of the Memphis radio stations this morning and quickly picked up the phone to call him. I received a resounding 'HELL YEAH!!!' when I asked if he wanted to go. :) With this combination, I'm pretty sure I will piss myself a couple of times so I think I'll buy a package of Poise Pads just to be on the safe side.

They will be at the DeSoto County Civic Center (in Southaven, MS right outside of Memphis) May 29th if you're interested.

The Villa Marre

Here are the pics from my drive-by past the Villa Marre yesterday. It was neat seeing the house but truth be told I was kind of underwhelmed. It always looked more glamorous on tv. Perhaps it was the lack of sunlight.....yeah that's it. In any event, enjoy!

And now for a bit of entertainment

And just for S&G's

THROWBACK!

I just heard this song on a commercial on the boob tube. Good music yo!

Fun fact: This is my first time EVER seeing this video.

The Boob Tube

While scrolling through the tv guide thingamajig last night to find something to lull me to sleep, I came across the most random show listing on ABC:

I was a bit surprised to find such foolishness on this network. The show title alone sounds like a Fox, MTV, VH1, or BET production. BET would probably have an even worse show title like, "Don't Hate, Apprecia-Date". I better copyright that before Debra Lee steals my sh!t!

In any event, my curiosity peaked immediately as did my body so I sat up to get a good look. I didn't need to sit up to much. The show is truly nothing more than folks rolling down a conveyor belt in the hopes of being matched up with one of five people on a panel of sorts. After all on the panel have selected someone, they head out on dates (which through the magic of television seem to last all of about 1 minute). LOL At the end of each date, you knew who was a match and who was not. That's it.

Most of you all have been reading my blog long enough to know that I am a reality show whore. I'll try most any show out at least once. Honestly, this program is a total waste of space and I'm pretty sure I'll forget all about it come next week. However, I was entertained.....at least for this episode. I don't see this lasting much longer as it doesn't have the 'it' factor to become a hit reality show like "The Bachelor", "Survivor", "The Biggest Loser", etc., etc., etc, but if you need something to watch for S&G's. I suppose it will do for now.

So how was it?

FREAKING FANTABULOUS!!!!

Ya'll, ya'll, ya'll *smh while smiling* this show was amazing! I highly recommend that if this tour is on the way to your area, try your best to go see Maxwell, Chrisette, and Common.

The show opened with Chrisette. I've been a fan since her "I Am" album was released in 2007. I've always like the sound and texture of her voice and last night she did not disappoint. Like a friend of mine said, it was like listening to the cd but better. She didn't get to sing as many of her songs as I would have liked but I understood since there were three performers.

During her performance there was a bit of a disturbance thanks to yours truly. Basically, I had us sitting in the wrong section even after making sure we got to the venue early. It's easy to mistake 113 for 112 right? *sigh*

Next up was Common (Z's fav performance of the night). Not only is he cute (not that I could see, more on that later) but dude really knows how to get a crowd HYPE!!! He did a mix of some of his songs (that I had completely forgotten about), this hip hop thing where he featured old school rap artists from the east and west coast, and a tribute of sorts to MJ. It was totally wicked yo! Dude even did a little break dancing and free-style. I'd totally hit that. *swoons*

We had to wait a bit (about 30 minutes or so) for Maxwell to come out and perform. During the intermission, I noticed that some point the people sitting to my right had all left their seats. I decided to take advantage of the fact that I wouldn't have to scoot past people and went to use the restroom. I guess I waited too late because as soon as I hovered over the toilet seat, guess what I heard?????? Yeeeeeeeeeeeep, the screams of elated fans as the house lights lowered. Son of b!$%^$!!!!!!!!!

Maxwell's performance was all that and a bag of chips(and dip)!!!! His voice, stage presence, background singers, band, stage gimmicks, and screen show were phenomenal! The big screens (which hadn't been used up until that point) moved around to form two big screens or split into four. One effect I really enjoyed was how he and band were made to look like a singing group in the 60's. This was due in part to their style of dress (tight tuxes for the men and a little short bob wig and off the shoulder dress for the lady) and of course whatever the sound stage engineer dude did.

The stage was also an added treat because it extended beyond the platform into an "X". This was neat because it allowed a good number of people to be close to the stage (I was not one of the lucky ones). Another cool thing was that the stage had built in holes in three spots that allowed him to appear and then disappear. It also had the ability to move members of the band from the main stage (like the drummer) out onto the extended portion.

There wasn't nearly enough time for him to cover all of his music but he did a good job of mixing the old with the new. "This Woman's Work" (or the crying man's song as Z calls it) was beautifully done and "Pretty Wings" was cool because feathers actually fell down into the audience on the floor. Some of his performances were rather open in content. He sang very vocally about sex....as in 'tonight I'm gonna make you my personal sushi' (or something like that). I instantly thought about some of the children I had seen earlier during intermissions and CTFU. Talk about an instant sex ed course.

The only downside to the evening was that the big screens were not used (in our arena anyway) prior to Maxwell's performance so unless you were on the floor ( or had really good eyesight) you couldn't see crap. Oh that and I don't have any pictures to share because I left my camera in the freakin' car! Womp, womp! :( It's just as well. I have pics and video from the Jill Scott concert last year and have yet to do anything with them. Oh, annnnd that I saw a lady walking around all dressed up with pink house shoes on. *blank ass stare* That was not really a down point just more of WTF moment of the evening.

Z: Maybe she has bad ankles or something
Me: So she chooses house shoes to wear....for support *side-eye*
Z: Hey, whatever works
Me: These country mf'ers refuse to let AR be great!
Z:What?
Me: Nothing.

All in all, we had a wonderful time and will definitely go to see this man perform again. He'll be in Memphis on the 20th...hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Here's a bit of the performance I picked up on youtube of him in NYC

GLEE........

...............are you watching?

I am and am slowly falling in love with this show. Here's a 'video' of the Acafella's (an all male singing group comprised of teachers at the high school) performance last night. It's pretty craptastic (just sound and a still image) but it gives you an idea of what their working with.....the right mix of corniness and soul. lol

More to Love

So apparently I became a fan of this show without even realizing it. This surprised even me since I usually go for more of the sillier versions of reality dating shows (ie, Flava of Love, I Love NY, etc) although I haven't really tuned in to watch any of those types of shows lately. If you aren't familiar with this show, it's basically The Bachelor with folks that have well, more to love.

I tuned in every week (well not really but whose counting) to see which girl (or two or four) Luke would give the boot to. What?! Let's face it, that's the most exciting part and if you say it's not you're lying to yourself. I never really had a favorite during this process but always found that one lady stood out a little more (read: had the most common sense)than the rest. It is also my humble opinion that she was the most beautiful of the women in the competition.

So tonight was the finale with the remaining two contestants, Tali and Melissa. In the pic above, Tali (3rd from the left on the first row with the long dark hair) is Jewish with a good head on her shoulders. Melissa, the devil in the blue dress (the blond 2nd from the right), is Christian and a little flighty IMO. And she wasn't really devilish, I just could resist. So the ladies meet the fam and it's obvious that the difference in religion with Tali (she's from Israel and Jewish) was a concern for his folks who are 'devout' Christians (which really means they probably only go to church on Easter and Christmas but I digress). After the meet the family trip, surprise visit from his mom and an unnecessary additional 30 minutes for him to contemplate his decision they finally got to the end.

Sidenote: To those that watch, were you at all annoyed at how they zoomed in on that damn pizza at the pool hall when Luke and Melissa were on their date? They would have never tried that if weight was not a factor. I'm just sayin......

Tali won and Luke proposed. Three cheers for the happy couple. Now, let's just see how long this loving union lasts after the promo tour, Hanukkah and Christmas.

Reality love...ain't it grand?

EPIC FAIL

Last matinee showing time for Transformers: 4:45 pm

Needed to leave the house no later than 4:15 to have enough time to drive over, get popcorn/drinks and find good seats

Departure time: 4:30 (CP time reigns surpreme)

Arrival time: 4:40

The parking lot was FULL, I wanted my snacks and I knew I'd be pissed if I didn't get a good seat.

Decision to try again tomorrow: 2 seconds.

We didn't even get out of the car. Instead, we just drove around town for a bit, rented a movie and came back home. We will try for one of the matinees again tomorrow. lol Some of you may be asking, why not just try a night showing. We rarely go at night to the movies. Both theaters in this town are raggedy as hell and I really have issues with paying over $5-5.50 to watch films there. Maybe once they build the new one they've been talking about FOREVER I'll reconsider.

I think it's safe to say I'm hooked................

..............at least for now.

In an effort to expand my reality tv viewing (as if I needed yet another show to watch), I have been become somewhat addicted to House Hunters on HGTV (in addition to My First Place, lol). I love watching as the families view the housing options and trying to guess which home out of the 3 shown that they will pick. I also like to seeing the difference in the type of home you get for the same amount of money in different areas. Sometimes the difference is vast.

Take for instance the episode I watched today. A lady was looking to purchase her first home and ended up finding a bank owned property that came in at around $150k (it was about $50k less than all other places she had been looking at). The thing that got me is that these were all condo/apartment-ish type places that had less than 900 sq. ft. The apartment I had before we moved into this place had that much room and rent was only $450/mth. Anyhoo, that got me to thinking about how much bang for the buck you could get in this area for the same $150k pricetag. You could get a super nice 3 (maybe 4) newer bedroom home with a bit more than double the square footage for that price. Living in Arkansas does sometimes have it's perks I suppose. :)

Now back to the show, one thing I do notice that I absolutely cannot stand is the random dumb comments people make. For example, they are looking around the house and step into a bedroom that's painted purple with flowers also painted on the wall....obviously a little girl's room. Or say they walk into the den/living room/great room and there is wallpaper. It just really slays me that they choose to fuss about something that could easily changed with an invention called ummmmm PAINT! lol It never fails. Now granted sometimes their complaints are warranted but I would think that when you are looking to purchase are home it's just expected that there will be things that you will need and/or want to change to fit your taste and lifestyle.

Even with that slight annoyance, I still thoroughly enjoy watching. I think this is due to the fact that I'm getting a bad itch to purchase my first home. Now that I know my job is intact (for now anyway), it is really something I'm seriously considering. Only time will tell. :)

Now, I'm off to watch The Fashion Show.

I guessed I should have checked my page more often......

MySpace lays off hundreds

The social networking thing is cool and I totally get the point of it but honestly it bores me. I only check my myspace account about once/month. Yeah I know...what's the point in having it then? At this point I don't have any idea. lol I started my page around the end of 2007. If they would have paid me a $1 for every time I checked it back then, I'd be rich bitch (toots the horn).....well at least well off. lol The novelty of it all wore off on me fairly quickly. I remember one of my friends asking me (probably a year after I created my account) why hadn't I responded to their myspace message. My response: Don't you have my phone number? lol I'm such a smart ass.

Now I do have one for Ning only because my sister set up a page for us for our family reunion this summer. Ask me the last time I was on it? When ARGal you ask? When I set up the account. lol

I've gotten several requests via email for me to setup a facebook account/page/whatever. Now I've been told it's totally different from myspace...much better, yada yada yada. I have no doubt they are correct. Who knows, maybe I will be persuaded enough to start one eventually but for now......no dice. And don't even ask me about twitter.....ain't.gonna.happen. lol

Maybe I should go check my myspace page now to help save a job.

What I'll be watching tomorrow night.......

then this

with a dash of this Monday night

Bridezillas can't get here soon enough. Get a load of this stupid ass trollop (edited) flip out over what looks like a Sam's Club sheetcake. I can't wait!! lol

I've been addicted to Army Wives since the show first came a couple of years back. The only thing I hate is that you have to wait so long between seasons because they only show it during the summer months. Bummer. Like many of the other shows I like(d) that also have large gaps in between seasons, (Big Love, The Wire (RIP...that show should STILL be on the air, United States of Tara, The L Word (RIP), The #1 Ladies Detective Agency), it is SO worth the wait.

I'm pretty excited (obviously) about the new show Nurse Jackie. The previews looked interesting, to say the least, and Edie Falco is a good actress so I'm pretty sure it will not disappoint. I'm just happy that some really good tv is coming my way. While I am a reality show tv fiend (as evidenced by Bridezillas, lol) it's always nice to have shows in the mix that involve an actual plot and excellent acting.

What shows are you looking forward to this summer?

Giving you what I got....musically
